Someone once described an LLM as "a middling-quality JPEG of the internet", and damn if that isn't a great metaphor. Because while not everyone is going to get into the weeds on model collapse, everyone knows what happens when you zoom in on a crappy JPEG hoping to find useful information.

I'm amazed that, after holding the stylus in a particular way for 20 years, Sen has just ... changed it. I'm not any kind of artist (DEX is and has always been my dump stat), but if you move where I'm holding my pen, I'll spend two weeks not even being able to figure out how to hit the paper.

We got a DVD set of "Barney Miller" a couple of years ago, and while watching it, we were amazed at all the "NYC pollution" jokes. We both grew up in Queens, and were of course familiar with how bad things were in the 70's. But it had been long enough that jokes about it caught us by surprise.

I availed myself of the bundle, and am currently enjoying the heck out of _The Kaiju Preservation Society_. (I was especially delighted to be in on surprising the KPS newbies, because of course they had no way of knowing that they were in a book titled _The Kaiju Preservation Society_.)
