This album is such an emotional ride - really a masterpiece even 30+ years later. And listening to it the first time on vinyl through a good pre-amp, headphone amp and headphones is quite the sonic experience. There is SO MUCH in every track.

If some party is complaining about immigrants or assylum seekers and telling you that in order to be ‘safe’ you need to get them out of your city/country - well you know exactly who NOT to vote for. Diversity and empathy are two of the BEST things about humanity.

You should always name things, like house plants or christmas trees or toasters. Because then you will naturally interact with them during daily life, and when they are gone, you will remember them. And imagine your mind full of all those sweet memories of house plants, christmas trees and toasters.

When Russia invaded Ukraine, there were almost immediately tens of thousands of sanctions put on Russia and its leaders. We are two years into Israel’s complete destruction of Gaza including clear starvation of its entire population and still nothing against Israel.

In 2003, we spent a year living in Vilnius, Lithuania. We were heartbroken to leave, and to give ourselves time before we had to see family and friends we were supposed to greet with smiles, we stopped for a few days in Paris, my first time there.

When you are just cycling to the beach in the morning and this giant heron is casually sitting in a tree cleaning itself.

100,000 people today in Den Haag formed a peaceful red line between the Malieveld and the Vredespaleis, where the International Court of Justice resides, in protest of the Dutch government’s complacency and complicity towards the ongoing genocide in Gaza. nos.nl/artikel/2567...

Massaal protest in Den Haag tegen Israël-standpunt kabinet rustig verlopen
