Well this is confusing. I didn’t realise that Burnham works for Google. That might explain a lot though…

The enshittification continues. When I unsubscribe from your mailing list, that means that I don’t want ANY more emails thanks.
Email from Magix, disrespecting my unsubscribe request.

Yes yes, here’s a daxie and a kitteh.

“Balfour Beatty, working in partnership with Southampton City Council”.
A long winded email effectively saying that the recent “public consultation” was a pointless waste of time and they’re going to do whatever they want to do.

Further enshittification from Meta. They’ve removed the option that supports the natural way of reading a thread - in ascending date/time order? One for @doctorow.pluralistic.net

Don’t you just love a happy accident? I set up a pinhole camera up in the music room, but I think the best view I got was created by a tiny gap in my living room curtains. 🙂

Too right I did. I’m moving to cloud storage and syncing hosted in Europe (Ionos). Blame the policies of your Orange Toddler. Oh and it’s less than half the price.

From these evening’s walk. An absence of roadworks. That would be a great album title!

He shoots, he scores. #RSD26 I was after Debussy, but I didn’t realise that Small Craft was on the list until I spotted it in the rack.

From the big extravaganza that was last night’s farewell from Mew, the intimate confines of our local record shop. Big Big Train Woodcut album launch at Vinilo.

This is a rhetorical question, but why are media folk unable to read graphs? The article that I lifted this from (link in the thread) even says “the major difference between 2025's flu season and the previous three years is that the virus started spreading around a month earlier.”

It's not exactly reassuring when you see these two headlines together. Can anyone remind me where this significant change in policy was in their manifesto? This along with Digital ID and the ridiculous OSA would have been enough to dissuade me from voting for Labour. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

As a guitarist, I’m occasionally asked who are my favourite players? Benjamin Short from A Formal Horse is right up there for me. Whenever I see him play, for the majority of the time I have no idea how he’s doing what he’s doing.

Genuine question: why do companies actually employ people to send out this kind of happy horseshirt? Yes I can unsubscribe, and have now done so. But I’m mystified about why this even exists in the first place? Who actually thinks “oh yes, I must tell every customer about this pointless nonsense”?

Hey @seetickets.bsky.social, this wasn’t very well thought out, was it? Let’s step quickly past whatever stupid reason you may have thought you had for not porting passwords across to your new “system”. You then compounded that error by making this email look *exactly* like a phishing attempt.

This is such a disgrace. On Monday I had an email saying that my direct debit was increasing and now this. I’d be curious to hear if anyone can explain how using a watering can uses less water than a hose with a spray gun?

Hey Google, if we opt out of your “AI” nonsense (I can do that, right?) can we stay at the old price? No. I thought not.

Apparently some of these gigs are at risk of cancellation, so please if you’re considering it please book ASAP. If you’ve never seen them, they’re always great value and deserve your support.

BBC “Science & Technology” strikes again. This piece is so astonishingly poor that even they eventually realised that they had to change the original headline, which was ridiculous even for them. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... #betteridge #gell-mann-amnesia

As a teenager, three albums changed my concepts of what guitar music was all about. Remain In Light and Discipline were the well known ones. I Advance Masked was the third. So this was an essential buy. I’m pleased to confirm that the third disc isn’t just padding, it really is a third lost album.

Honeyglaze at Heartbreakers. If quirky art rock with shifting time signatures and a whiff of Radiohead atmospherics is your thing, go and see them. Oh, and the vocalist reminds me of Regina Spektor for some reason. They deserve to be huge.

A couple of years ago I ticked off a bucket list item when I finally got to see Crash Test Dummies in London. Tonight they’re playing within walking distance of home!
