"I've got my eye on you, Amamiya." Though, he wishes he didn't, because this is more tiresome than usual.

No, you're not important enough to know when I'm taking time off. I manage what little time I have very, very strictly.

⤴️ "best start investigating before something else truly heinous happens. If I'm alive, then what sort of monster could have been revived by the public's unconscious fear of them? It's a rather concerning possibility."

"I thought I did." Silence, for a moment. There isn't much to say. Goro clearly remembers his attempt on Ren's life. To be so shackled to his justice that he nearly killed the one he cares about most... That was why he let the shadows kill him. Ren doesn't deserve this. "Mmm... I suppose we'd ⤵️

♥ Goro: I'm gay. Ren: Hey remember when you shot me?

Akechi. @thriceshattered.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

⤴️ of that, had he ever told Ren about his sexuality? It never came up organically before. Either way, his gaydar pings at mach speed around Joker. There's no way that man is straight. "What a pain in the ass. And there's no real clue as to who or what caused this."

Akechi. @thriceshattered.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

"Right. I had planned on bringing that up if you hadn't." He wishes he had that coffee, but he shouldn't push Ren until the shock wears off. "Then, I'm probably alive because those stupid fangirls of mine are deluded into thinking they have a chance with me. Surprise! I'm gay." ...Come to think ⤵️

Akechi. @thriceshattered.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

"Indeed." Silence falls between them. Where do you start, when you see someone you care about who's supposed to be dead? Ren probably has the worst of it. Goro would be happy to go back to the grave. "Thank you for fulfilling your promise. For putting an end to Shido."

"I wish it weren't." Goro sighs and makes a vague gesture with his hand. "Something's going on, here, and it isn't my doing. But I was certain if anyone would understand where I'm coming from, it's you." Looks like Ren is getting upset about it. Is it wrong to be glad that his death mattered?

Akechi. @thriceshattered.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

"Yes," the unmistakable voice replies. So Ren *is* home. There are things he would like to say, but he's so tired. At least let him have his coffee before taking care of business. "I believe you also have something I'm expecting to be returned to me," Goro adds. Maybe that'll wake Ren up.

⤴️ alive even now. At least give him SOME satisfaction. Who cares. His life is out of control, anyway. It's just another day as the Detective Prince. Ugh. What a disgusting banner to wave over his head, but he doesn't have a choice. No one ever gave him a choice. ...Except for Ren...

⤴️ finally wants to start over and be a father to his bastard son. No, thank you. He's blocked the number that the prison calls from already. He won't hear another damn word out of that disgusting mouth. He wonders what it was like, when they won. He wishes he was alive to see it, if he has to be ⤵️

⤴️ provided by his sick bastard of a sperm donor, so it isn't exactly calming to return home. Even though the Phantom Thieves won. Even though Shido is going to be in prison for the rest of his life. He got a call from Shido, actually. It made him want to puke. All this time, and now that sick man ⤵️

Always the fool, aren't we, Ren? Akechi feels rather frazzled by the current events, so he simply allows Sojiro to provide his usual order. If Ren isn't home, then he isn't home. It's enough that he can feel some semblance of safety here, despite having nowhere safe to return to. All of it was ⤵️
