I wanna make video games of all the cool comics I read... What if there was a publisher that focused on dev collabs with comic creators? #comics #games #videogames #gamedev #comicbooks

"Dungeon Crawler Carl" by @mattdinniman.bsky.social is absolutely a must read, especially for gamers and rpg/DnD fans. Not only is it growing in popularity, but it's also been optioned for a TV show with @sethmacfarlane.bsky.social's production co.

You should read the books, they're even better! And if you like the Boys, you'll probably like Garth Ennis' real masterpiece, "Preacher".

Wow! I love this book so much! Can't wait

I have some colleagues who do the same! iPad on the couch can be just as good as a Cintiq!

Thorwath @thorwath.bsky.social · 14/11/2024

Is it old school to still hand paint your textures? I see more and more texture creation tooling being used. Don't get me wrong I love substance and all, but my default is to jump straight to painting. #vfx #realtimevfx #gamedev #art

What a service! Thanks for organizing this!

Now reading for #bookclub, Batman White Knight by Sean Gordon Murphy. I'm told this is one of the best stories and I'm a HUGE SGM fan. Very excited to dive in! #Comics #comicbooks

Gamer friends. If you read one book this year, make sure it's Dungeon Crawler Carl! I cannot recommend this book enough. Imagine mixing Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy with Diablo, DnD and Futurama. It's absolutely pure joy. #DCC #BookClub #Games #RPG

Is there a yo-yo ninja class in the game?

True success is finding the match to a long estranged pair of socks.

There is no problem the pea hat can't solve!

Thorwath @thorwath.bsky.social · 08/11/2024

Yep, that's how I'd approach it too. If it were more organic, curved geo might also work. Also, I put waaay too many hours into SoT 😂 ... 😭

Thorwath @thorwath.bsky.social · 08/11/2024

What's your technique to avoid the camera catching an edge with FX like this? x plane geo?

Oh you were already on top of this lol. Still learning how bsky works

Oh yeah, pulling every issue. I love the foreshadowing in issue 5 alluding to upcoming backstory beats. "that's a story for another time"! Hopefully I'll get you to sign my 1st issues at a con someday!

I almost feel like it's better to stylize after you export a sim. Taking the frames to Photoshop or after effects or something. Which is unfortunate.

I just realized @gerryduggan.bsky.social is on bsky! Love the work so much, can't wait for more.

This book is so good! One of my favorites so far this year. Epic love story unfolding in the most unlikely scenario. Plus, cowboys and Samurais! A+ #comics #comicbooks

Yes! All the colors, none of the textures!

Honestly, without scrolling textures a lot of other things will be limited. Strong choice.

Right? VFX really leveled up when we gained the ability to dissolve everything lol

If you were stranded on a #vfx island and only had 1 trick with you, what would it be? For me: Alpha erosion, all day. #gamedev #realtimevfx

I recommend the book. The movie changes a lot for the sake of time and screenplay.

Thorwath @thorwath.bsky.social · 29/10/2024

I genuinely don't know how I went my entire life until now before discovering comic books. Literally decades of amazing stories and art to enjoy. I love comics so much! #comicbooks

UV Manipulation. You can do so much by scrolling a thing across some UV's, but too few tutorials actually show interesting or helpful tips on how to adjust the UV's. Squash em, stretch em, twist em!

Post your most popular art from Twitter! This is a mostly unhelpful breakdown of how I created the Fire/Lava VFX for Deathwing in Heroes of the Storm. People seemed to enjoy it though! #gamedev #vfx #realtimevfx

Oh hi, Look at that, not a cloud in the sky! I'm here for art and good people. Games, comics, Tech, etc. make me smile. Maybe i'll post some cool VFX stuff eventually too.

Lol, fine Simon. Twist my leg! I'll post a thing.
