Well done to Jamie, and all who helped.

Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 10/12/2025
Idiot? Probably, but much, much more. Evil personified.
010
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 27/11/2025
Scotland is at 26%. Not great, but better.
000
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 23/11/2025
Exactly, but will we? Having canvassed for many years, I can tell you there are still very many who either choose not see, or are too stupid to realise what is occurring, and as you say, been happening for many years, and continues with increasing regularity today.

Nearly free for me, but then I'm 85. Registered with Scottish Citylink for free. £1 to reserve my seat. Cumbernauld/Stirling return. 👍

Ditto.

Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 21/10/2025
Well said Richard. Agree entirely.

It's been going on for over three hundred years, theft of Scotland's resources that is, and it will continue unabated, unless we take drastic action. But what?
010
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 24/02/2025
While I agree with you Charles, I have spent years canvassing trying to convince the people you call undecided. I would prefer a different title. While some are undoubtably as you say, I'm afraid the level of ignorance/apathy or downright hostility is astounding. The very best of luck.

I refer you to his, Connolly's, remarks in October, 2004, at the Hammersmith Apollo about the Iraq hostage, Kenneth Bigley. I believe what he said then was beyond either vulgar, or crude. That's all.

Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 24/02/2025
The amount of money is immaterial. Our only oil refinery is being closed. Another theft of Scotland's resources. This is the unionists plan. Gradually emasculate us, including our Parliament, until we have nothing worthwhile left. Renewables in the process, and our water will be next.
000
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 23/02/2025
Exactly.
010
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 23/02/2025
That's the trouble with asking nicely. They will ignore you. Same for Independence. We need action.
010
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 23/02/2025
Useless certainly Melissa, but much, much worse. He is a traitor to Scotland, a Fifth Columnist in plain sight. A weasel of a person, willing to sell us to an English Government, for, he hopes, later reward. Ermine?

Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 23/02/2025
Yes, bad enough Catriona, but as we all know he is the B.B.Cs poster boy, and since they are the experts at lying, they wouldn't recognise the difference.
020
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 23/02/2025
What? A corrupt lawyer with not one ounce of decency, no empathy for real people, determined to cause vulnerable people, of all the U.K, more pain, apologise. I'm a member, but what world are the S.N.P living in if they believe there is any chance of this happening.
032
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 23/02/2025
Odious is the word James.
011
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 22/02/2025
Odious is the phrase Wee G.
010
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 22/02/2025
I know it's Scottish matters we normally write about, and obviously that is our main concern, but this criminally corrupt Labour Government, seem intent on punishing vulnerable people the length and breadth of the British Isles.
000
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 22/02/2025
That indeed is what is happening, but my biggest fear is that all the unionist parties, Conservative, Labour, LibDems and Reform, form a coalition, and effectively shut out the S.N.P and Greens. Their policies bear a remarkable similarity to one another, and they are all against Independence.
051
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 22/02/2025
Yes Colin, but only very rarely are they confronted by the M.S.M, and probably never by the B.B.C. And despite falling print sales, and listening, viewing numbers at the broadcasters, an awful lot of Scots still do see/hear the headlines, and, unfortunately, believe their lies.
010
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 19/02/2025
Well put.
010
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 19/02/2025
Correct S.L. And that has been our problem all along. If we keep playing by their rules, which they change to suit their purpose, we'll never become Independent.
010
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 18/02/2025
51 certainly Greymane. How about almost 318yrs?
010
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 18/02/2025
I hope you're correct Otto. We don't need them, we don't want them, and yet some are apparently going to vote for them. Unbelievable.
010
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 18/02/2025
Without knowing the facts, you could probably go back to Walpole, and still be correct.
010
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 18/02/2025
The man, Starmer, is an evil liar, and that applies to both him, and his Party. He has no interest in how real people are suffering under his rule. That applies to England as much as Scotland. And for more, he doesn't care. Weak, cruel, corrupt, with no empathy, is how I would describe him.
030
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 18/02/2025
Starmer is at best delusional, if he believes anything he says, or does, will have any effect on what actions Trump has taken, or will take in the future. Any chance we had to exert any influence, and in the case of the present U.S President I believe almost impossible, ceased, when we left the E.U.

Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 16/02/2025
As with Hilda Murrell the previous year, Willie McRae's death was convenient for the British Government. Both committed anti-nuclear activists, who died in circumstances that are far from clear. And that's me being circumspect.
020
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 16/02/2025
And if you add all the English based political parties, and a private company together, you get near to 60%. What is it about some Scots that they would hand over almost complete control to political parties based in another country? Something I have never been able to understand.
000
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 15/02/2025
Definitely final word. Personally, they, Reform U.K or indeed any English political party will never even try to dissolve the Scottish Parliament. Why, because the asset stripping, which has been going on for over three hundred years, will be complete, by the time we become Independent.
100
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 15/02/2025
Final word. The Scottish Parliament was established via the Scotland Act, 1998 by U.K legislation. Therefore the U.K Government can alter that Act if that is their wish, and the English are not called perfidious for nothing. Westminster would like nothing better to have complete dominance over us.
231
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 15/02/2025
One that Reform U.K would devise. Westminster, as confirmed by the Supreme Court, have complete authority over Scotland.
120
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 15/02/2025
That's assuming Reform U.K win the next U.K General Election.
100
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 15/02/2025
I'm no expert Jocky, but presumably through an Act of Parliament, Westminster of course. Maybe not an exact parallel, but didn't it happen with Stormont, where all power was returned to Westminster, at least for some time.
100
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 15/02/2025
Correct p h. I always thought the Tories were fairly transparent in how they wanted to control us, but that Labour were sleekit, pretending to be the friends of real people, when in fact, they were the opposite. Brazen liars.
000
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 15/02/2025
Of course it is, but the question remains, as evidenced by Kirkintilloch on Thursday, why do so many real people still vote for them. Fooled how many times?
011
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 15/02/2025
Not exactly news, although good to see it publicised. Asset striping by successive Westminster Government's have been going on for hundreds of years, so Grangemouth is just the latest. There will be many ,many more, unless we develop a backbone.
000
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 15/02/2025
Absolutely. And I'm a S.N.P member.
021
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 15/02/2025
I'm just not certain that we in Scotland who oppose Farage, and his ilk, have any idea either. If the opinion polls are to be believed, his party is a threat, and will probably gain seats in our Parliament, which they intend to abolish.
230
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 15/02/2025
I'm afraid he, Starmer, would just be replaced by another evil, lying, cruel person, with no empathy , or feelings, towards the real people he/she/they are supposed to take care of. Oh, unless you happen to be very rich.
000
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 15/02/2025
I'm afraid this is par for the course. It really doesn't matter what the subject happens to be, S.N.H.S, ferries, education, or indeed anything that is the ultimate responsibility of the S.G, and sometimes not, since a lot of uninformed criticism comes from traitors serving the unionist cause.
021
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 14/02/2025
Nothing to it. I'm sure you'll be made very welcome.
130
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 14/02/2025
What do you make of the result of the Kirkintilloch by election Wee G? Turnout just 26%. Labour elected. So much for the dimunation of support. Where were all our brave Independence supporters? At this rate we'll never achieve our goal.
110
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 14/02/2025
While I appreciate your sentiment Chas, it ain't going to happen. Scotland must assest stripped of anything of value, and so say the voters of Kirkintilloch yesterday, who, once again, voted Labour. Grangemouth is merely another nail in the coffin of Scottish Independence. Others will follow.
010
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 14/02/2025
Almost unbelievable. This is part of the area I used to canvass for Yes/S.N.P. They told us in 2015, "Labour, never again". Stupidity doesn't cover these actions. And you ask why I despair we will ever be Independent?
151
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 14/02/2025
Absolutely.👍
000
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 14/02/2025
Refugees are not the problem. That lies with successive Westminster Government's, who continually demonise them, and, seemingly brainwash a goodly number of the electorate into believing the same. They are welcome, and we need them.
010
Alex Beveridge @thorburn97.bsky.social · 13/02/2025
Absolutely correct S.H. The question our corrupt media will never investigate, nor indeed ask.
