That which is seeing the whole IS THE WHOLE. There is no separation.

The truth of this moment is the highest degree of intimacy. Nothing is closer. Nothing is more intimate. This is already as close as anything can ever be.

The present experience is the only available salvation, simply because it is all there ever is. This. All this which is. Sight. Sounds. Bodily feelings. Thoughts. Whatever is actually present. Real peace can only be made with what is really present. And only what is present is ever present.

Attending to your emotions—paying attention to them—is not a mechanism of self-control. It is a gift you can give yourself. A wonderful gift indeed! Maybe the greatest gift of all.

When you shift from trying to have achievements—which is always in the future, outside of your control—to simply executing the task at hand, in this moment or at this day, magic will happen in your life. Be specific, realistic, measurable, time-bound—and, most importantly, act from your heart.

We can prefer a known shitty feeling over unknown feelings, just because certainty feels safer than uncertainty The deeper paradox is that we may be trying to avoid feeling worse, but in doing so we keep reproducing the very state we endlessly seek to escape The only release: This moment, as it is

The only reason we are stuck is that we don’t want to change. More fundamentally, we don’t want to change on the level of our bodily sensations. We want to know how we will feel, even if it means that we feel just as shitty as we do—at least we can be sure that we don’t feel more shitty than now.

You cannot help someone be who doesn’t want to be helped—who doesn’t want change.

The felt, present experience IS THE FULL EXCHANGE for the past. What is now is endlessly rewriting the reality of life. Be open to it. Listen to it. Behold it. Feel it.

The sun on my skin is releasing my trauma. The wind in the trees makes me forget what has been. The sound of the birds lets me enter this space where no memory is informing me anymore. The sensations in my heart, here in this moment, make me exchange that which was for that which is now.

The present experience is not the problem; it is the solution… Resistance to it is what keeps the past psychologically alive. The past does not have to be fought or resolved. Full contact with what is happening now is what dissolves the resistance that gave the past its continuing power.

When we allow the present, we let go of the past. This moment, as it is, is the unending ending of whatever has been. Receive what is present, and whatever has passed is released by itself. Enter your experience, and there is nowhere else for you to be now.

Follow the sensations to the liberating truth of this present moment. Let them move through you, let them overtake you, and let them reveal to you what has always been here: this moment, as it is.

Real, lasting change that is aligned with the truth requires humility— to admit that our mind might be wrong about life— and about ourself. To change without distortion, we have to become willing to question the very mind that is telling us who we are and how life really is—now.

Suffering creates the willingness to change. But if we want to change while still needing to be right, real change cannot happen. We have to be willing to be wrong. Otherwise, we won’t see what contradicts us, won’t try new things, and won’t discover the truth. Real change requires humility.

This, right now, is your present experience. Is it not? Notice that there is nothing that needs to be fixed about it. You don’t have to make this moment different from what it already is.

A wuss is someone who has begun to interpret every unpleasant sensation as something unacceptable That puts the wuss in endless conflict with life, with others, and with his own feelings—with himself The 'wuss' is, ultimately, a mental program: a way of seeing, a “no” to the reality of this moment

You don’t need someone else’s respect to deeply respect yourself in this moment. Fighting to overcome another person’s disrespect can pull you even away from yourself. Your worth does not depend on their respect. Respect begins with how you see yourself. Respect begins and ends with you.

Don't be afraid of peace. It is not peace that will destroy you. Don't be afraid of joy. It is not joy that will let you down. Don't be afraid of love. It is not love that will break your heart.

Blame becomes a control mechanism when it exploits our tendency to tie our worth to our self-image. It creates guilt, shame, or defensiveness and indirectly pressures us to restore our sense of being “good,” “right,” or accepted. Recognize: You can take responsibility without accepting any blame.

It’s not merely about accepting a few familiar, unpleasant feelings It’s about the General Allowance of the present experience as it is Question 1: Does anything that is here now have to be excluded from this moment? Question 2: Is this moment allowed to be exactly as it is? Look deeply within

From oneness to the appearance of separation and back to oneness. Not a change in what is, but a shift in the inner view.
