We were among the first to vote Tuesday at the Van Buren County Auditor's office. We had to wait a short time as the kind and capable staff helped other voters. We saw many familiar faces. Voting early is easy and takes a few minutes. Take care of business and then rest easy!

It was a treat to have son Tony and his girlfriend Jonna here for the Scenic Drive parade. We had great friends join us, including Sonja and her friends Karen and Kate, plus Mike and Sue Carr, pickup provider and driver Eric Weston, and the indomitable Twyla Peacock. We received a great reaction!

I came across the historic Second Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant last night. It's up on some gnarly cribbing as workers install a new foundation. Congratulations to the nonprofit organization that has worked hard to preserve this significant structure!
