I still wouldn't really recommend getting into Conan unless you LOVE murder mysteries because it's so darn long HOWEVER if you do want to get into it, you can set your VPN to India and Netflix has at least the first 700 or so episodes with English subtitles.

Been doing more Conan rewatching - just rewatched the best Conan movie, Countdown to Heaven. Cannot watch this one scene without crying, even more so now that Ran's original voice actress, Wakana Yamazaki, has passed away.

I wouldn't really recommend Detective Conan to the uninitiated - it's so, so long and still ongoing, and there's still not a very accessible way to watch it (Netflix and Cruchyroll only have some episodes) BUT for a mystery nut like me, Conan is just so good. Especially the older cases, so iconic

Haven't recorded myself playing piano in ages so I was a bit nervous and this performance is not perfect But this is Love Ballade, the theme song of Kosuke Kindaichi, one of my favourite detectives It was written by Yuji Ohno, who is one of my top five favourite composers of all time :))

But no, it's ugly, it doesn't at all capture the original game's distinct and beautiful aesthetic. The 3D models look bad. Maybe the backgrounds were made with AI. Maybe they weren't. I don't like them either way, and the well has been totally poisoned. You can no longer trust Level 5 :(

Just finished playing The Mermaid Mask, the new detective game from the makers of Haunt the House, Crow Country and of course Tangle Tower. Absolute 10 out of 10 for me, really really recommend picking up this game!! Gorgeous art and music, intriguing story, and FULLY voice acted - a must play!!

But the thing that bugs me the most is just the pretending things haven't changed. Like pretending that the UK is a haven for LGBT rights when that's blatantly not true in the way it was a few years ago As a trans person I'd feel safer living in a dozen other countries. but THIS IS MY HOME :(

Like obviously there's a ton of anti-trans discrimination + legislation, but also fire services are pulling out of pride, councils are withdrawing funding for pride... Like I don't know, I'm not like in a panic or anything, you've just gotta keep on living your live as best you can.

The UK is in a weird place politically where LGBT rights are dramatically backsliding, but the government + most media are pretending that's not happening. Like they're still acting like the UK is progressive on LGBT rights when any gay person will tell you things are moving in a scary direction

Well, the president of Nintendo is not Koizumi but rather Shuntaro Furukawa. By all accounts he is familiar and involved in Nintendo more deeply than leaders of other companies might be, but he's not really a public face of Nintendo - you'll only see him appear in interviews very rarely

One of my current favourites of his lately has been Love Ballade, from the Inugami Curse movie. The Inugami Curse is one of the Kosuke Kindaichi books, which is Japan's most famous detective novel series. And this movie theme is the de facto theme of Kindaichi. www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7od...

Just saw that Yuji Ohno, the composer of Lupin III, has passed away. His music has had a massive, massive influence on me - if I sit down at the piano, it's very often a piece by Yuji Ohno that I go to play. All of his music is on streaming, so go listen to the Lupin III theme in his memory :)

I really love all of the music I heard in the direct - they've fully orchestrated the Star Fox 64 soundtrack, and it sounds amazing!! For reference, Star Fox Zero didn't use real instruments, just synthesizers. The only game that used actual orchestration was Star Fox Assault back on the GameCube!!

but WHAT IS THIS??? It's most likely a project of Nintendo Pictures, Nintendo's CG animation division but is it a promo for a new game? An AR thing? A Pikmin series? The video has been dropped on all Nintendo channels simultaneously with no context. They've even notified all Nintendo Today users!!

Obviously as a trans person, the fact that Labour has done more damage to trans rights than the Tories did in 14 years is shocking and awful But now with this internet legislation which is just unpopular across the board, I really don't see Labour getting re-elected for a decade or longer

DK Bananza looks just unbelievably great!! like Odyssey 2, but also so much more!! Pauline is my favourite main Mario cast member, so I'm thrilled that she has such a big role in the new game! and the voice definitely sounds like Kate Higgins to me, which is great!
