Today I added a tag for natural soundscapes, and some links to resources on soundscape conservation, bioacoustics, and quiet in nature :)

Wall test :) Working on a soundmap of my 2023 thru hike of the pacific crest trail. Around 200 soundscapes from Mexico to Canada. Still a ways to go on this project but I’m really happy with the progress! #pct #fieldrecording #soundmap #nature #sound #acousticecology

Spent a couple days in Angeles NF last week. I staged some DIY pinhole cameras in a couple spots well off the beaten path paired with unattended field recorders for four days. Multi-day exposures, multi-day recordings. #pinholecamera #fieldrecording #diy

Oregon crickets from the vantage of my tent in 2023. As tedious as the editing phase of this project is, it keeps me feeling connected to trail and public lands more generally. Keeping the spirit alive is an act of protest. #fieldrecording

Paid my respects today. A man said to me, “this is really appropriate given how dense it is, and how many different angles you can look at it” Amen. #davidlynch

Got this in the mail yesterday. Would not have been possible without access to public lands. Thanks to all federal land management agencies for everything you do. #pacificcresttrail #publiclands
