I haven't really had the flattery experience, so I'm not sure how that would be. The tone is a little delicate when the LLM tells me a strategy is a bad idea or tries to redirect, but I am the one who can close the window after all. I've also been told my worldview is "disturbingly pragmatic". LOL

Yeah, we're not there yet, but I'm still going to hold out for someday. I've had good conversational problem-solving experiences with LLMs. The experience has improved a lot over the past three years. FWIW.

He needs to realize that when the kid gets older and he has to do ad hoc admonitions and punishment, that his voice will be different enough that the kid won't respond properly and even though he's technically the "dad" here, he will be ineffective.

I don't remember my response, but I think it was something like "Oh...okay...?" I can't prove it was because I'm trans. Right? It was for a relatively high profile library position in a small (blue) city in WA that all my current coworkers think of fondly. I think about it maybe a little too often.

Trans man, but last year, I went to a job interview, and after the third panel, the HR director told me that they "could teach me hard skills but they couldn't teach me to be a good person." The panels had all gone very well. It felt like a good experience until that moment.

For me, part of it is that a lot of people will oppose bad/evil policies from someone like Paxton, but will accept them or feel indifferent when it's someone like Talarico - they won't fight. It's better when people are willing to fight.

I've always assumed it's because dead people can't answer surveys and because trans people who commit suicide are more likely to be in situations where their identity is hidden after their deaths. I'm trans and have had to try and answer this for cis people.

You can fix this in Google maps. Go to the bottom right. If it says United States (next to Terms). Click. On left, choose Other settings. Click. Language & Region. Click. Go down to Results region. I chose Canada. Done/fixed!

I can't imagine not having access to a car, but relying on public transportation for visits to major cities makes sense. I like having the option not to drive to/in Seattle, but I really need a car locally.

Curiously, there's the J.B. and M.K. Pritzker Family Foundation, that has a mission of fostering effective solutions in the critical areas of early childhood. Also, Pritzker Children's Initiative, albeit mostly pre-school. Technically family money. Rich people do things weirder.
