I wrote this poem about a prediction that didn’t come true in 2024.

The Wise Men said
2024 was the year
The Blaze Star would incandesce again!
This was her time!
How could she not break through?

But the Cunning Women said,
Maybe not this year, gals.
Maybe these smug, small men aren’t ready to Blaze.

These smug, small men celebrate the stains on their souls.
The chaos they buy.
The pain and the hate.

All that will be illuminated.

In the midst of Ariadne’s Crown
the binary Blaze continues to confuse the Wise Men.
When will she burn?

When will she burn?

As her twin dies,the red star tries
to hold on to his light
Until the light between them cannot hold
and she must
Blaze.

In the darkening days she spends
whispering with her twin,
she knows the time must come

when she will burn too bright
and he will not be seen again.

The Blaze Star does not need to be told to shine.
The Cunning Women know
Her coruscant hours arrive on time.

We await the Blaze Star of Corona Borealis
Presaged to bring forth her fire in 2024.

Divination and conjuring, like all hard jobs,
Like birth and death and truth and hearth,
Belong to Cunning Women.

Corona Borealis, we looked to you!
We were ready!
We were well past ripe.

In the night above heathered fields,
The Blaze Star shone
as Barons
held their King to a new law,
Charting a fit future away from tyranny.

Our recurrent nova Blazed again,
brighter than Polaris,
as a new nation came forth,
Constituted in liberty and injustice,
hungering to be free.

When the young democracy fought a war against itself,
Blaze illumined its Reconstruction,
praying practices and principles might finally align.

The last time Blaze ignited,
She marked the ending of a Holocaust
The rekindling of liberty, equality, fraternity, democracy, and justice.
But the embers of these fires
harrowed more than warmed

Without downloading new pics, where are you at mentally?

An embroidered hand towel, clearly meant to be inspirational, with a major misspelling. It says “You will never have this day again, so make it CUNT.” The last word, which was obviously supposed to be “count,” is embroidered in large gold cursive letters. The rest of the words are in smaller white sans serif print letters.
