Returning from Lillooet down to the Lower Mainland, we took the West Fraser Canyon route which I hadn't done in a LONG time. It was a blast. We also rode past the Saw Creek fire near Lytton which was on the other side of the canyon. #dr650 #motorcycle #moto #advrider #motosky youtu.be/Gn2mX31wJQM

Some video from WCADV Moto's 2026 June Jamboree that was staged out of Lillooet, BC, Canada. One of the C groups rode West Pavilion, High Bar Rd, and Big Bar Rd before doing the Jesmond fire lookout climb. #dr650 #motorcycle #moto #advrider #motosky youtu.be/Jt4-jCKgj78

That sucks, sorry to hear about that. Coincidentally, I am also re-doing my fork seals this week.

I attended the June Jamboree put on by the WCADV Moto group in Lillooet BC, Canada. It was lots of fun (and my first time going to an organized event). We took the West Harrison route to get from the Lower Mainland to Lillooet. #dr650 #motorcycle #moto #advrider #motosky youtu.be/5YNrDRS_h_0

I agree. I was thinking that just last night, trying to go for a balanced position while standing, and gripping the bike with my legs so my arms weren't accidentally inputting anything into the bars. I always do better downhill than uphill.

A TL from back in the day! 😍 Coincidentally the friend who was with me on that ride suggested we go to a Try Trials event next month.

(the single track, as well as the view at the end of the powerline road, made it all worthwhile, though)

I cleaned up the DR650 so I could take a photo of it with the new muffler and mid-pipe for Bushpig Performance who will be selling the kit. I'm really enjoying the sound of it. I also cut a 2" hole in the airbox and switched from a 145 to a 150 main jet' #dr650 #motorcycle #moto #advrider #motosky

I took the Bushpig for its first big offroad ride of the year. We explored some areas along the Sea-to-Sky highway north of Vancouver, Canada. Had a great time and it perfectly encapsulated why I bought a dual-sport bike. #dr650 #motorcycle #moto #advrider #motosky www.youtube.com/watch?v=uc6w...

It's definitely louder but not obnoxiously so. It's the burbling and popping during deceleration which is most noticeable. I like it but I'm holding on to a GSXR pipe I found in case I decide I want something quieter in the future.

I know what you mean. I've ridden my son's R6 for a few *very* short stints and that was enough to confirm that my sportbike days are but tiny specks in my rear view mirror.

I have yet to consult them. I'm too lazy to pull the seat and gas tank on the side of the road to check the plugs. I suppose I should, though.

Next time. I used a Tusk kit of fork seals and dust seals but the dust seals didn't fit (they were clearly designed for a different fork).

The Bushpig is finally ready for the season. I put a larger jet in the carb and opened up the airbox to take advantage of the better exhaust flow. Also cleaned up a weld seam inside the exhaust header. #dr650 #motorcycle #moto #advrider #motosky

I *FINALLY* put my forks back together. It was real slog waiting for replacement parts because a) I ordered the wrong ones and b) because the manufacturer mislabeled theirs. #dr650 #motorcycle #moto #advrider #motosky

There are so many great things about riding off-pavement, chief among them: far fewer cars. Also no worries about artificial speed limits. Common sense and fear are enough to keep the speeds nicely aligned with the terrain difficulty. Oh, and it instantly expands your inventory of routes.

I think Honda did a great job with the design of the Rebel. A modern take on the cruiser look.

More riding season prep: replacing the fork seals. I was able to unbolt the damper without buying the special tool but did have to buy a torque wrench since my other ones were too low or too high. Will be using some PVC pipe to drive in the seals. #dr650 #motorcycle #moto #advrider #motosky

I don't ride in the winter but I do use a heated vest when it's cold. Love it because it's not bulky so is easy to wear in the morning, on the way to the trails, and then stow it in my bag later in the day. Much less bulky than wearing a warm underlayer.

We're into the new year and we're also past the shortest day(light) of the year. That means thoughts of this coming riding season are popping into my head. On the weekend I gave the Flying Circus a little warm up to get some gas flowing in them. It's about 0C today.

Enjoy your riding season. My insurance expired a couple of days ago. Will replace the DR's fork seals over the winter. Also picked up a GSXR muffler for it that I hope I can shorten so it fits the bike.

I enjoyed driving on similar rural roads in England in a car but on a bike I would've been uneasy going around some of those blind curves. No room to maneuver if the driver of an oncoming car was doing something stupid.

Exactly why I suffered through changing my tires in my garage using my bike's tool kit. I wanted to ensure I could do it with what I carry. And also wanted to make mistakes and learn a better way to do things in the comfort of my garage.

It was WAAAAY easier replacing the front tire than the rear. I didn't even need to use my bead breaker tool. It WAS, however, harder to seat the bead. Had to use almost 60psi and lots of soap to get the tire to seat properly.
