I could have fallen for the fake news because my biggest fear is to be pressured to ask for an euthanasia (that’s why I am against it although I understand arguments of those who are for). I wouldn’t do so with the US healthcare system (which I never think about) in mind.

The infrastructure & hostage situation made it very, very difficult. But let’s think about it, material destructions were enormous. About 80% of Gaza is destroyed. Under such circumstances, the death toll could have been much, much higher than 70k including fighters if precautions hadn’t been taken.

Where I disagree is about proportionality. What does being proportional mean when the other side wants to exterminate you ? There are always war crimes and they should be punished, but steps were taken to spare as many civilians as possible (leaflets, vaccination campaigns…).

Canadian schools and hospitals don’t hide weapons, tunnels etc. Again there were no hostages. 7/10 hostages were held in tunnels but also in civilian homes in the middle of innocent Gazan civilians. They knew the risks. There were steps taken to minimise civilian deaths.
