Yo, I heard you like cells so I put cells into the cells that I put into your cells. (And why is the worked example project management? What happened to project management software?)

Was walking past this building and through the window saw this backrooms-ass room, so I accidentally took the coolest picture ever due to the window's reflection
A backrooms-ass room with a twilight sky and trees seemingly imposed over it in a dream-like fashion (it's the reflection of the window)

If you write in Latex, there’s BetterBibtex with a bunch of useful features, e.g. auto-update.bib files. You can also simply drag entries from Zotero into a text editor and define what format they land in (quick export settings), including BetterBibtex ones.

You guys are aware of all the morphological computation work in robotics, right? There’s a lot on how to simplify/eliminate computational problems by designing the robot for the task and tons of examples snd inspiration from biology in there.

I think a lot of people who think they're rejecting computationalism are really just rejecting representation. I liked this paper on that topic: journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10....

For people who think that LLMs have an “accurate” “understanding” of what one tasks them with, this webpage where someone asks 13 of them to generate the HTML/CSS code for an animated clock once a minute is a nice visual: clocks.brianmoore.com

So that "chatGPT ate my notes" thing today. Imagine complaining "I put all my stuff on someone else's machine and now it's gone" a decade ago. You'd have been laughed all the way back to Data Security 101. But wrap a non-story in genAI and suddenly you're in every feed.

Because it feels relevant as we continue to evaluate the media and our representatives’ statements, my favorite way to identify the active vs. passive voice.
A post by Rebecca Johnson:
“I finally learned how to teach my guys to ID the passive voice. If you can insert "by zombies" after the verb, you have passive voice.”

A tumblr respond from mightymur:
“The final, brilliant word on passive voice.
"She was killed [by zombies.]"<--passive
"Zombies killed [by zombies] her." <-- active”

it requires synchronous communication but at the same time cuts out all the multimodal aspects while giving you just enough to really notice their absence. At least text is obviously impoverished (and asynch is possible) phone calls are the uncanny valley of comms and not even practical

Carbonara is great for teaching Mise en Place 101. There's really not a lot to prep, and it's not hard, but the difference between doing it and not doing it is the difference between a smooth 10 mins in the kitchen and overdone pasta congealing while you pick grated finger bits out of the cheese.

I have difficulties accepting this hypothetical because it feels like accepting that a thought would have an agreed-upon look seems to go against the definition of thought. Seems like this is creating an analogy or metaphor, not literally defining a look.
