Lately I find myself experiencing nostalgia for a very short and specific era of time, right at the turn of the millennium. I had just gotten my drivers license and figured out how to burn CDs, 9/11 had not yet happened, and every movie had “All Star” by Smashmouth on the soundtrack. Life was good.

People of #weirdcarBS, I need your help. I’m trying to track down a documentary on car design/future cars from about 25 years ago. It would have aired on either Discovery, TLC, or A&E. There were segments about the CAD deign of the Dodge Intrepid, driverless Buicks, and the Mercedes Vario concept.

I don’t think we talk enough about how, in the span of 10 years, the “Monsterverse” franchise went from a relatively grounded and realistic take on the Kaiju premise, to a completely off-the-rails bonkers universe where there’s a magic portal to a hollow Earth & the monsters team up like wrestlers.
