I Do Stuff 3 is done and in the queue for Monday. I have thoughts. Not many so I'll share them here; 1. I need to create some word balloon templates. Software is too smooth to fit but my hand remains too wobbly. I might be able to pull this off in InkScape. more...

I stick with B&W because colour doubles the amount of time I need to finish a comic and I'm slow AF as it is. Also, I just prefer it. But here are the new promo pieces for #NamiComi. Colour to make it stand out a bit among all the flesh on the front page. #art #comics (this time with ATL text)

A brown skinned woman with X'es for pupils stares you down. She says, "Stuff"

A flapper, a punk, and a cat dance down a desert road. The title "I Do Stuff" is on top and a thought balloon saying, "Stuff?!" is below.

Gold Key had the best comics covers of any of its contemporaries. (From my personal bathroom reading collection.) #comics #gorillafighting

The cover of Dagar The Invincible for 25 cents. The blurb tells us that Dagar is fighting a monstrous gorilla in the forest of fear.

He is indeed fighting a gorilla with a right strong enough to shake the gorilla's head. Behind them is a damsel tied to a post, and what look like Neanderthals enjoying the show.

This is comic books distilled.

Since I'm now posting the comic up on Monday (cross all of your fingers, toes, and eyes) I figure I'll finally get started on new promotional art for NamiComi. Here's the cover layout. Banner is still in the sketchbook. #art #WiP #comics #namicomi

A mock up of a comic cover.

Title of "I Do Stuff" across the top of a frame. Inside the frame is a woman dressed as a flapper, a male punk rocker, and a cat. All three are dancing the Charleston. Yes, the cat too. There is a signature in the corner.

Below is the thought balloon that says, "Stuff?"

I'm totally for localization. I'm also for titles that roll off the tongue. "Yani Neko" works a lot better than "Chainsmoker Cat". Character's name is as easy as it gets. As much as I loved it, "Delicious in Dungeon" is a clunky assed title. "Dungeon Meshi" flows and is short so I use that. BUT..

A page from Yotsuba&! Chapter 71.

A girl and her dad are sitting at a table after a big meal

Yotsuba: I'm so full...

Dad: You ate too much. Your stomach is bulging

Yotsuba sits up: I'm fine! I can eat more!

She then vomits with a "Hurgh"

Dad: Waugh!

I knew a guy in Japan who wore deck shoes & suit to a job interview and the head interviewer was so apoplecticly angry about it that he cut the interview short just to yell at him about this grave insult to... Japan? His company? My friend wasn't sure. Iced coffee woulda killed the guy on the spot.

Drawing Music- Love is Here by HOA HOA are from South Korea but they sing in English. Don't worry. Their time as a Beatles cover band is still evident in the harmonies but they've moved on to a more general "Swinging 60s" sound with this release. Fun stuff IMO. 8/10 Nehru jackets

The cover to Love is Here by the Korean band, HOA.

It features the band sporting a retro look. The cover itself is equally a pastiche of the album cover styles of the 1960s

You might be able to pick up from this screenshot that I'm doing some surgery on the lettering for the next comic. Too much leading originally. Looks butt. I'll also have to scale back my ambitions for the next comic and delay a story until I Do Stuff 4 cuz of IRL stuff. I'm sure you can relate.
