Sanam walked over to the couch, pausing a moment before picking a place to sit down. He sat down all the way to one side, resting his mug of tea on his thigh.

100

"Oh I see." He nodded, understanding. "Alright. You pick the film then." He smiled a little, just his mouth turning up at one side.

100

"I imagine that would be a bit of a spectacle." He chuckled again softly. "What should we do in the meantime?"

100

"A... hat?" Sanam couldn't help but chuckle. "I don't know if I have any of those with me. I wasn't exactly planning for a low profile." He took another sip from his mug. "Until nightfall you mean?"

100

Sanam nodded. "I'll text you the exact location from maps." He did as he promised, then took a sip of his tea as well. "I think we should wait until dark. I don't know if Luthor is still looking for me."

100

Sanam looked a little surprised about sword shops still existing. "I suppose I shouldn't be that surprised. People can be very serious about their hobbies." He laughed a little at Ivette's reaction to the mural, his skin flushing. "I'm pretty sure I didn't look quite this heroic... I probably--

Sanam chuckled at that. "I don't believe those exist anymore." He reached into his pocket and drew out his phone. "I want to show you something I saw on social media..." He passed his phone over to Ivette. On the screen was an Instagram post; a picture of a graffiti mural on the wall of a --

Sanam nodded. "I agree. It's the kind of attention that could attract trouble, whether they know what the sword is or not."

Sanam was taking two mugs out of the cabinet and setting them on the counter when he suddenly paused. "... No... but there's an easy way to identify 𝘮𝘦." He turned around to look at her, an idea sparking in his eyes. "... What if they got the same message from Merlin that I did? If so... --

"How about we do a green tea? It has caffeine but has a more calming effect than black teas." He opened Ivette's cabinet and scanned to quickly for where he had stored the tea. "I hope one of them has something that will give us a hint about who they are. I have no idea how I'm --

Sanam chuckled softly. "That would make things simpler, wouldn't it? It would have a similar effect as well. No one could use it save... Well... Me, I suppose." He brought the now full kettle to the sink and placed it on the burner. "I apologize for stealing all of your tea."

Sanam brought the kettle to the sink and started filling it with water. "It was meant to prove something, in the original story... Maybe they was the point this time as well. And it being known what it was, was how it got to be in my hands in the first place."

Sanam started towards Ivette's kitchen and opened the cabinet to pull out the kettle. He knew where it was by now. "Well the... Stone was acting as the sword's scabbard... I'm not sure someone would have took the trouble to put the sword in the stone then just dropped the scabbard beside it."

100

Sanam was watching Ivette as she spoke, nodding along occasionally. "I wonder if the scabbard has any special properties, like the sword... or if it's just an ordinary one... Should we make some tea? Sit down and do some reading?... Or... do you have other things you need to get done today?"

"Stories tend to change over time... Especially when it comes to things like legends." He pressed his tongue to the inside of his cheek, thinking for a moment. "I... Think they're memories... I started having very vivid dreams since I moved to Gotham. Thinking back on them now... They felt --

"Avalon, I think," Sanam recalled. "But as far as I know, that isn't a real place... We could do some more research? See if it was based on somewhere real," he suggested. "And on everything else as well, of course."

100

Sanam nodded. "I do think we should do some research still... That's what I've been doing. If we were called back for a specific purpose, I think it could be tied to the past. I don't think it happened randomly." He turned his gaze away as he thought about something. His brows crinkled, --

Sanam chuckled softly and rubbed the back of his neck. "Well... We are all going to be different people. I'm... A journalist. Not a king. They could be anyone... Maybe Lancelot even reincarnated as a dog." He shrugged, chuckling softly at the thought. "Reincarnation is about learning new --

100

Sanam sat back down in the chair. "Thank you again... for everything." He chuckled softly, deciding it would be annoying to continuously list off all the things he was grateful to her for.

100

"I could do that myself. If it's necessary," he said quickly, not wanting to put either of them in that awkward situation. His tone changed, less awkward and more his usual. "All finished then?"

100

Sanam stood there awkwardly, holding his arms out for her or out of the way depending on what was needed in the moment. He chuckled when she measured his neck; yet another thing he hadn't considered for clothes. He looked down when Rafa 'attacked', then he started laughing softly. "It might --

100

Sanam didn't comment on her being close. He didn't see how she would be able to do it otherwise, given how small she was. He watched her moving around curiously, not interrupting since she seemed to be trying to recall numbers. "You need to know the size of my wrist...?" He asked, --

100

Sanam blanched for a moment, but then recalled that the word meant trousers for Americans. "Right. Yeah." He held one arm out to the side to be measured. "Should I just...?"

100

Sanam rose from his chair, now towering over her. He watched her a moment as she fumbled with it. "So... It's probably my shoulders, right? And the length of my arms...? I already know what size trousers I wear." Sanam was actually about as clueless about the whole thing as she was.

100

Sanam smiled again, this time fondly at her awkward mumbling. "Right. Yes... Did you have a measuring tape after all?"

100

Sanam smiled at her. "I appreciate that," he told her. "I know I'm not much of a fighter... You would probably be better off than I—no, you 𝘥𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 would be better off than I would if it came down to a fight... still. Hopefully one day I could actually protect you, if it came down to it."

100

Sanam looked thoughtful for a moment. "I suppose, if she is involved, she would know who I am... I'll have to try not to let her see me then. I'm not letting you go in there alone."

100

Sanam turned his chair towards her, committing to the conversation now rather than to what was on his laptop screen. He relaxed back into it, folding his hands on his lap. "What about it?" He inquired.

100

-- create phones and sell them, but with clothes, you want to convince celebrities to wear them. It's reputable for both the celebrity and the brand."

100

"Actually, I don't think so," Sanam said. "I've been to the sort of events before, as a journalist. People like Zolotov gain reputation through personal connections, which means talking to everyone and getting them to like you. It's a different sort of world than Luthor comes from. Luthor can --
