One more #Mermay! Lionfish make for such a good mermaid base. Also trying out a very different palette with the #colorcube again. Handmade watercolour paints in the photo are from Beam Paints, a gift from a friend and are lovely! Base for the gouache used on top.

More SoIaF calender art! This time ALL the horses. I really enjoy painting horses but this one was a challenge with so many. Oberyn arriving with his cohort. I managed to sneak the Hogg family banner in there as it's legit a family he travelled with :D Oil on panel 19 x 19" #art #gameofthrones

I've never shared all of the images from the official SoIaF calendar I did for 2020, choosing scenes that inspired me from across the series. These are all 2ft square oil paintings, and remain some of the most intense, accomplished work of my career. Up first is Ned and Cat under the heart tree.

Why is it I can crop this picture of my cat and his body is equidistant from the edges of the rectangular image border. This is not how to cat, sir. Your head should not be in the centre of your body, dangit.

Over the past couple of weeks, I've made it a mission to learn the basics of blender, using stylised diorama tutorials. Started with the pink and green room and moved to blue and yellow. Then to prove I'd taken it all in, an art studio of my own, figuring out new stuff as I went!

Lots in this post I can relate to, though my circumstances are very different. I too did my own version of what my own body felt like to me once the circus had moved on, where you settled on creepy clowns, I settled on peeved looking demons. Glad you found a way to express yourself.
