It is all we can do. Keep moving forward. Keep building despite everything. Always shine light where you can no matter how much darkness. What else is there? ❤️

The #HighPotential Copilot in-show ad brought back all those horrible Bones ads about cars .... and all the other in-show ads in shows ... I fucking hate this stuff.

I have been trying to write since I was a child. When I was a child it was so easy to write. As an adult with chronic pain, autoimmune, fibro, racism, uncertainty, life ... it feels impossible to continue and also the "why should I bother anymore" ... it used to feel fun, now it feels like torture.

you had me at crows and heart ❤️

my god .... the world has TRULY gone absolutely insane. I mean it HAS been for a long time but now it's spread to almost everyone and it's getting worse. Stay epic. Don't even give that bullshit it a shred of additional energy. What would Jaycel say? "We have no time for the absurd, dahling!" 😆

Kiersten White's The Fox and the Devil is EPIC AF. It ticked so many boxes and was narrated by THREE absolutely EPIC women: Alex Sarrigeorgiou, Barrie Kreinik, and the amazing Fiona Hardingham. Supernatural, sapphic, tech, Victorian, folklore, diverse and progressive romance, found family. YAS!

After 30 years our landlord has banned all forms of smoking on the porch ... there are people who live here who smoke weed and there have been complains so now I have to give up cigars which I only smoke a few times a year. I am really devastated. It was a connection to my grandfather. #cigarsky

Realism ≠ Pessimism

The truth doesn't set you free, it only imprisons you in a new reality that completely obliterates the one you were hiding within before.

People are angry and irrational. They aren't thinking logically about prolonged resistance that is sustainable for all. This is long, long road. You beat your oppressors by SURVIVING despite their abuse not dying in futile gestures that only amuse them and give them the end result they want.

Thanks for this. I was looking for it.

Continue to believe whatever you wish to believe. Continue to be angry if that helps you feel less powerless. It's not the way forward and it's not sustainable but do you.

000

Elaine Barlow @thewebrecluse.com · 01/04/2026

The system is designed to keep working people screwed that isn't the point. The point is a strike would have to go on for well over a year to make any kind of dent in the systems you are trying to change. It's not a sustainable way of protesting. It makes no sense to keep suggesting it.

100

Elaine Barlow @thewebrecluse.com · 01/04/2026

And will you employ, feed, and may the medical bills for all those who will lose their livelihoods during this strike or do you just see the lives of the less fortunate as a necessary sacrifice?

100

Elaine Barlow @thewebrecluse.com · 01/04/2026

This is always the point I try to make but selfish people say "change requires sacrifice". If everyone is homeless, jobless, can't feed themselves etc then there is no one left to maintain this "strike". They want the least able to sacrifice themselves to merely inconvenience the 1%...

You have been through alot and come out the other side of it positive and stronger and that is amazing and all we can hope for when we experience difficult times and just the exhaustion that comes with all of life's ups and downs and the journey to find meaning in our lives. Thanks for all you do.

I wanted to say thank you for everything and for your openness. So many are struggling and I think it's so valuable for everyone to be honest with how life makes them feel and what they are going through. None of us are the only people going through something even if it seems so. ❤️

Matt Prince, an adjunct professor at Chapman University in Southern California, says... “If the word ‘moreover’ shows up in your paper, there is a 99 percent chance that AI has written it.” So first it was the em dash and now it's another perfectly normal word...

100% truth on this. The weather has been wild. Some days its beautiful for a smoke and then it's cold AF. I haven't been able to enjoy a lot of the new sticks I got. I hope the weather will level out soon! ❤️

011

Elaine Barlow @thewebrecluse.com · 13/03/2026

Just got some the other day! Waiting for some good weather. These are new for me I'm looking forward to trying it.

The original #Muniemaker #cigars stopped being made in 2019. I got one of the last boxes and have tried to preserve 10 of the in air tight glass tubes. These were my grandfather's favorite and why I became interested in smoking cigars in 2015 or so. This will be my second cigar of 2026. #cigarsky

Elaine Barlow @thewebrecluse.com · 09/03/2026

These are amazing cigars. I wish that I had more skill in discerning what this mix is. These are really amazing.

First #cigar of 2026. Finally nice enough weather to sit outside comfortably and enjoy a smoke. It's supposed to snow again Wednesday 🤣 #cigarsky #TheCigarLounge

Anything that brings younger audiences to the theater is an autowin in my opinion. I love to see this kind of stuff. Like this and #StrangerThings that push the medium in new directions using tech. I hope I will be able to experience this sometime!
