US Increases Reward to $50 Million for Information Leading to Nicolas Maduro's Arrest The US government has doubled its reward for information leading to the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, whom Washington calls "one of the world's biggest drug traffickers."
"The Department of Justice and the Department of State are offering a $50 million reward for information leading to the arrest of Nicolás Maduro," said U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi. "He is one of the world's largest drug traffickers and a threat to our national security."

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil Pinto called the doubled reward "pathetic" and the U.S. statements "political propaganda."

"The dignity of our homeland is not for sale. We reject this crude political propaganda operation," the Venezuelan Foreign Minister wrote in a telegram.

The previous reward of $25 million was set in January, AFP recalls.
