We MUST decouple from the US first. We’re currently in danger because of their alignment to russia. Regarding RO, yes, a pro-EU coalition could save our path. We also have some external backing from 🇫🇷, which is good. Georgescu is currently the biggest threat, but he might be barred completely.

I pity those who believe democracy is only about voting. Y’all WRONG! Democracy is about upholding DEMOCRATIC values (freedom, equality, respect for human rights). A vote that empowers oppression and destroys these principles undermines democracy itself. Hitler was democratically elected too.

After WWII, surviving Iron Guard members were imprisoned or fled the country. The communist regime suppressed any remaining supporters. Still, the movement’s ideas resurfaced in nationalist discourses. Some fringe groups (Georgescu included) and historians still try to rehabilitate its image. /13

By early 1941, Antonescu crushed the Iron Guard’s rebellion in a brutal crackdown, officially dissolving the movement. But its violent & ultra-nationalist legacy scarred Romanian society forever, because this movement had already influenced literature, art, and church sermons. /12

In 1940, under Antonescu’s dictatorship (himself nazi ally, hitler’s best friend), the Iron Guard also allied with the Nazis to form the National Legionary State.
