I don't know about racist thoughts, but I feel strongly that Jonathan still believes his robust health and longevity is down to the way he properly balanced the bodily humors under that shell and gave offerings to the appropriate spirits of the nether worlds

I can see that, but it feels to me like you kind of realize this is now a bit at 5 and then it becomes a truly funny bit at 6. (YMMV as they used to say on the old, fun internet)

I feel like the old, good internet could've hosted a fun, rollicking debate about which rake smack indicates the point where this scene flips from weirdly tedious to hilarious and unforgettable. Possibly by No. 6, definitely by No. 7.

I mean it’s more fun watching the Jays in the World Series, but the Yanks with more errors than hits through 12 innings of playoff ball is still a decent consolation prize

Maybe not the most immediate concern, but someone should get in touch with this French publisher avec un peu de vitesse and explain the difference between looking something up in an encyclopedia and copying passages from an encyclopedia
Screencap of the end of the story reading:

Guillaume Allary, founder of the publisher Allary Editions, said forbidding authors from using A.I. was like barring them from ordinary search engines.

“We’re at the beginning of a redefinition of what an author is,” said Mr. Allary, adding that writers would start using A.I., much as Renaissance artists worked with entire teams of people. This reimagining, he said, would mean doing away with “the romantic image of the writer alone with his pen.”

For now, Mr. Allary did not see a clear solution. “As long as the contract between the reader and the writer isn’t clear,” he said, “there will be scandals.”

As I’ve grown older I’ve gravitated to the gritty vets still getting it done in the final stages of their careers as my favourite players. Really liked Tulo as a Jay. And I adored watching George Springer play every day for 6 years. Played with his whole heart and a lot of joy. So long pal

It's such a ludicrous read on the season too. He worded an observation about how contracts work in an interview a bit clumsily. Meanwhile he played all season like a guy doing everything he could to contribute away from the plate in the midst of a slump that was clearly driving him crazy

Yeah that’s about it for the 2026 Blue Jays. They’ll play the last 5 games with one healthy starting pitcher under the age of 40, which is a big part of why they are in danger of finishing under .500 for the year

U of C poli-sci prof Pablo Policzer (a good friend and wise counsel) has a great piece in the Calgary Herald suggesting his colleagues are underestimating the calamity of Alberta separating in their report to the government on costs calgaryherald.com/opinion/colu...
Screencap from the linked article reads: "The report treats economics as though it comes first and politics second, as if costs could be worked out separately from how government would work. But the causation runs the other way: whether Alberta gets anything like the numbers proposed depends on what kind of political community it becomes, including whether power stays checked, revenue stays transparent and government stays answerable to people."

MLB should also allow each team to ban one of its own players from having their challenges accepted in any and all circumstances and the Jays should invoke that ban on Andres Gimenez immediately
