The rainbow pattern that we see on the Pride flag is not “modern political ideology” being forced into #heathenry. Rainbows and rainbow imagery have inherently been part of our mythic imagination from the beginning. #Asatru is and always has been much more colorful than people think.

Any fascist meaning harm to transfolk has to come through me first. I expect many Heathens, Pagans, & Witches to do the same. Our movements would not exist without LGBTQ people. Any Pagan worth their salt knows now is the time for solidarity.

Nordic pagan (heathen) here and our religion is inclusive to all people, except nazis etc, and there’s large communities of inclusive heathenry (check out The Troth) There’s a small vocal minority of racists who co-opted our religion and they usually call themselves Odinists. Which again fuck them.

We get asked a lot if Norse Paganism is welcoming to trans people, queer people, etc. Our prerogative is there is no Norse Paganism without trans people or queer people. It simply does not exist. Our religion has been built on the work of LGBTQIA+ people. Scholarship. Theology. Liturgy. All of it.
