It's part of the reason why I LOVED Deltarune Chapter 5 a lot! Of course Undertale and Deltarune as a whole too! Seeing Flowery's shenanigans throughout the chapter and his interactions with the party and the game as a whole is awesome! It just puts a big dumb smile on my face!

Stats and numbers are diegetic! Look at my DEFENSE and tremble!!! UIs and MENUs are unquestionably visible and normal as well! Touching normal enemies starts BATTLEs! Obviously! It's just how their world works! Strange rules that nobody questions, cause it's normal, and part of their life!

I always REALLY loved the idea of video game mechanics and functionality being a natural part of the world without saying that their world is just a game! It's very fun to think about and play around with! It really takes a unique spin on the meta aspects of video game stories and their narratives!

True!! I really like how In Stars and Time was handled. The game told the story it wanted to, while offering lil extra tidbits of it's world that aren't explored as much, letting You think about it during and after the game. The questions more so adds to the story than take away from it.

I program sorta the same way with my personal projects! I do try to organize things the best I can when I work with other people, but for my own projects where I'm codin' on my own, I feel like I'm throwing a bit of paint at the wall sometimes hshhs! Not perfect, but it works!

Kinda silly, but I love when comics, art or animation include stats and damage numbers in it is if it was an RPG! I guess you do most often see it in projects that are suppose to take place or parody an RPG. It's also a really fun way to potray a character's strength and abilities! Numbers are fun!
