Ink art featuring an OC, Jacques Herbin and Sailor Dipton inks, and a Platinum fountain pen

Velvet Paws - art @thetis.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

My The Crow customisation is going well. The movie adaptation was a favourite of mine when I was 8 yo (growing up in the 90's 😅). I used mostly the comics as reference for this project. The base doll is a MH Wednesday Prom. #dollcustomization #thecrow #monsterhighcustom #monsterhighooak

Bwahaha! That reminds me of when I bought a copy of Agatha Christie's "Haunting in Venice"... That is in fact "Hallowe'en Party" and never has anything to do with Venice at all 🤣 That movie was a shame, imo... The stupid title makes me cackle every time, tho!

I just got the Platinum fountain pen on an artist's recommendation, and so far I really love it!! Compared to a Lamy Safari, the nib is much thinner and, I'd say, sharper. It's only 10€, and a Platinum Carbon ink cartridge (one of the best inks out there) is included. Such a great deal!!

Inking stuff for my personal satisfaction. Aka vibe inking 😂 #inmybag #pencilcase #hats #pen #ink #sketchbook #art

Drawings of 2 characters wearing unconventional hats and clothes, in black and dark red India ink and walnut ink

A coffee table covered with most of the contents of my bag: a sketchbook open on some ongoing work with a dip pen laid in the middle, ink and water bottles, pen dibs, 2 pink and fluffy pencil cases filled with various drawing tools and inks, a mug of warm beverage and 2 retro film cameras.

OC Tara - As a young girl, her bright and warm personality made her popular in her hometown. She was very caring and protective of her little sister Zora, and would worry endlessly when she disappeared for days in the forest. #art #oc #character #rain #waiting #sketchbook #ink

Drawing in ink on grey paper, representing a worried young woman looking out a window on a rainy evening

OC Tara - She's a woman haunted by the loss of her hometown and her family, especially her little sister. As an adult, she has a sort of dark aura about her. #oc #art #character #blue #grief #sketchbook #ink

A portrait in black, blue and white ink on grey paper of a woman with black and blue hair, black clothing, looking down with a pensive and serious expression.

I love ugly art! There's an artist who draws cats playing/having zoomies in a sort of blurry, chaotic style. It's ugly, but man, it's so expressive and hilarious, it's genius!! Some people think "art must be pretty". Imo, these people have no idea what they're talking about and need to go out more.

Thinking about hats. I'd like to make one that is practical, has great coverage, and can be wrapped to carry 🤔 Also testing a couple of new brushes I got for details. #hat #art #ink

A Girl Walks Alone At Night - Jessie (Part 2) #comic #manga #art #digitalart

Page 2 of the comic:
the monster follows the girl and grabs her wrist with its tongue

Page 3 of the comic:
The monster shrieks in pain, turns out the girl had a knife and she cut its tongue to get free. Now the monster is pissed

Page 4 of the comic:
The monster attacks the girl, jumping brutally on her and aiming to either suffocate her with its breath or to bite her heads off. He goes for the latter

Page 5 of the comic:
The girl escaped and jumped out of reach, then charges a super laser attack or something with her knife. The monster’s dead, and the red clothes are perfect for luring them out, apparently

I made a 5 pages comic, based on the premise of Buffy: a girl walks alone at night, and there are monsters, but… Declining this idea in various little stories with different developments will be a nice little sandbox, don’t you think? (Part 1) #comic #manga #art #digitalart

A comic page, where a girl heads home at night while a monster lurks in the shadows. The whole page is in greyscale on a grey background, except for the girl’s red jacket and shoes.

Hi #PortfolioDay! I'm VelvetPaws, a Frenchie cat mum, fashionista of sorts, and software engineer. I draw illustrations and comics for personal satisfaction. I work both in digital and traditional (mostly ink). I like themes of sci-fi, cyberpunk, witchcraft, vampire, lesbian romance,...

Isn't "trick or treat" the threat (and lie) our cats tell us (usually in body language)? Does that mean Halloween is secretly a cat-people event?

010

Velvet Paws - art @thetis.bsky.social · 12/10/2025

11 - Sting The word wasn't inspiring me, so I decided to be the Frenchie in the room and to draw Sting, as he appears in the movie Kaamelott. I don't think I'm giving his charisma justice, cuz he was super dashing! #inktober #inktober2025 #inkdrawing #art #sting

Day 7 - Reckless I had several ideas for this one, but I liked the fact that you can be reckless in a very casual way, by just minding your own business... A little too much 😅 #inktober #inktober2025 #inkdrawing #art

Painting in ink and white pencil and pen on grey paper, representing a person who is wearing headphones and focused on their phone, and who is walking in front of the bright lights of an undefined but large vehicle.

Hi everyone! Thank you Davis for creating this space! I work on my spare time on illustrations and comics, both digital and traditional. Currently adapting the Little Mermaid as a space opera, while playing with ink on grey/kraft paper and preparing a much bigger and darker story :3

Velvet Paws - art @thetis.bsky.social · 04/10/2025

Reminds me of a secondary character in Sayonara, Zetsubo Sensei (which I recommend for its craziness and absurdity). Tha character has mean eyes. And so, everyone goes "she looks so evil, she GOTTA be innocent". She's not, and I think it's partly because she keeps trying to prove them wrong 🤣
