book 6: isle of elysium. 4/5 stars. after escaping the island (somehow), keo reached the destination he'd been aiming for since the end of walls. what he's looking for isn't there, having been taken by collaborators. he's captured and, after some revelations, eventually saved by a blue-eyed ghoul

3.9/5. fields of lemuria picked up pretty much right after the previous one. they can definitely be read standalone and the main series isn't missing anything if you skip them. however, keo is my favorite male character so far and i'm really glad i took the time to read them book 6: isle of elysium

4/5 stars. walls of lemuria can be either book 1 or book 3.5, depending when you read it, which i didn't realize sooner. starts day 1 of the purge and covers about 6mos, following a new group of survivors. the pov follows keo, who joins the main series in book 4 onto the sequel: fields of lemuria

book 5: ashes of pompeii finis. 3.9/5. they've abandoned the island bc it got overrun. (good thing that yacht turned up early in the book.) one bad guy sacrificed himself to help others (one in particular) escape. a major character got turned but no one else knows about it walls of lemuria next

book 4: fires of atlantis done. 3.9/5. best book so far. still no devastating loss, but they got the hostage back. well, she mostly got herself back, which i liked. the island group has connected with survivors around the world and the people are starting to organize onto book 5: ashes of pompeii

the stones of angkor (book 3) finished. i'll go 3.7/5 bc it's my fav of the series so far. we see a bit of what's happening in the world beyond where the initial group of survivors are on the island. i was wrong about the devastating loss, but one main was taken hostage and the others don't know yet

my third book this month: a million miles away by lara avery (2015). 3/5 stars. this was a ya novel about a girl whose identical twin sister died unexpectedly and how she lies--only at first accidentally--and pretends to be her dead twin to her boyfriend who just shipped out to afghanistan
