Could be, I am not 100% sure as I would have been a little kid when my parents were watching it. Back in the blockbuster rental days, or PPV descrambling days.

Because for me it was a traumatizing scene, probably to a lot of us. But he himself loved it 🤷‍♂️

Crazy thing is? Chris mentioned that this was his favorite moment in his film career.

I cannot remember the movie, but mom/dad was watching a horror film in the livingroom, and I distinctly remember a scene where this lady sticks her tongue down this guys mouth, all the way to his heart, punches it out of his chest and eats it... that one SCREWED ME UP as a child. Traumatizing

Yep, never had this problem until covid. Now, when I first got it, i had the cigarette smoke smell. The 2nd time around is when it switched up to this funky burnt fabreeze smell.

One thing that drives me nuts since I caught covid in 2021 and again in 2023, are the phantosmia symptoms that are chronic. They come and go. Everything smells like burnt fabreeze/fruit. Currently going through that again, and it lasts a couple weeks. Drives me NUTS!

Time to take a look at this poor sad Macintosh classic. Probably not repairable but, would make a good test harness for boards

Crazy thing is, I believe this one was from around 1989 or 1990, and it has a TFT panel. This thing was probably not cheap new.

This is an extremely complicated part, and I can't get it 100% exact. I can get close, though.

techknight @thetechknight.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
That came out alright, now I have to deal with the part that breaks, that metal hinge support bracket. Brittle magnesium.

Dealing with the next annoyance on the GRiD Gridcase 1530: The hinge bearing. It is plastic, likely nylon and it cracks/crumbles. So, 3D printing to the rescue:

I don't understand why they're so expensive now, it's just a 386 PC with a plasma panel. There were many from different manufacturers

Well... that was fun! XT-IDE BIOS embedded into a GRID Application ROM on the Gridcase 1530

What I would do is just stare at the visualizers for hours at a time, as a form of a stim when I was a kid. That was just my go-to lmao. But as a side-note, holy SHIT I miss skeuomorphism bad.

On this topic, it was through the website of this application that I discovered Sonique Player as it was promoted. I would then learn about Winamp around the same time, I was in my early teens back then.

Since I am a data hoarder, I found my old installer for Scour Media Exchange. Now, THIS was a blast from the past. I used this post-napster shutdown, just before I got onto Kazaa. Kinda wished it still worked.

And this is what it is like dealing with narcissists, especially one in power. Being in narcissistic relationships for most of my life, I recognize it right away.
