I have had a thought. Dangerous, I agree; however the brain cell came up with a banger: . Get art . Print art on a transparency . Backlight and copy art with a film camera on a copy stand . Print internegative in a traditional darkroom Boom. Real film grain and halation!

And though the building was little more than a shell of its former self, suspended by modern steel and the burden of memory, nature still tried valiantly to reclaim the clay and sand man stole long ago.

Why buy the thing I want when someone designed a 3D printed version on GitHub… don’t think about the rest of the hardware, just start printing.

Making prints of furries at Megaplex is definitely not what Foma Bohemia thought their products were going to be used for this evening… Enjoy @nollidr.bsky.social

The negative image projected by a photographic enlarger onto a makeshift easel.

The final print washing after development and fixing. It has a soft focus look but that’s what you get for trying to do a 1/2 second exposure, handheld, indoors, at f1.7

I desperately need to commission myself as a black and white photograph of a cat from long ago.

A photo of a tabby pleasantly side loafed under a bush. The caption at the bottom says “Skeeter” in cursive.

A distinguished tabby sitting on a stool. The top caption says “Oct, 1938” and the bottom “our Michael”. Michael’s seat is in focus but his face is slightly out of focus.

A cute, stylized illustration of “Jimothy,” a viral raccoon with short spine syndrome. He’s walking happily with colorful stars and lines around him in primary colors, along with the words “hold onto your whimsy.”

Wait I posted it to tumblr and not here?? Tried my hand at darkroom prints of some of my negatives. Such a weirdly fun process!

A black and white print of a black and white cat. The print is rinsing in a tub of water.

A black and white print of a black cat silhouetted in a window. The sprocket holes and branding of the emulsion was also printed. The print is rinsing in a tub of water.

A variety of test strips in a tub of water.

A neatly cut down print of a black cat silhouetted in a window. Foma Bohemian hit me up if you want a good photo for advertising. Foma Action 400 film printed on Fomaspeed 312 matte paper.

Taking black and white photos of my cats while visiting home gives me a silly idea for a commission. Discuss:

A photo of an all black cat. She looked at the camera in terror and started to run before the shutter had even fully opened and shut.

Fomapan Action 400 rated at ISO 200, developed in Rodinal. I believe this was either 1/8 or 1/4 second at f2, remember to bring a strobe next time.

My first ever darkroom prints! Contact prints of some 4x5 negatives, (Fuji HR-U xray film) on Ilford RC paper, developed in caffenol. I need to get some equipment and then I’ll be able to enlarge these bad boys.
