A spooky cartoon lizard leans, grinning evily, out of the widescreen bars of a psychedelic, distorted film of some description.

It's obviously not the 'cool' thing to do, but relaunching 'Nightmare on Elm Street' as a franchise via a Fortnite collaboration, in the exact same event as one of their biggest collabs ever is kinda genius from a marketing perspective. Certainly introduces it to a big audience prior to a new movie.

I keep seeing the word 'Meta Muse' and having this horrible vision of Matt Bellamy doing a theme song for Deadpool 4.

Finished up with and 100%'d Well Dweller today! Genuinely one of this years best games, and a super charming Metroidvania that, bar some fiddly controls, really strikes a good balance between challenge and optional customisation. Just the right scale and length too. And spoopy! Great stuff!

Well wasn't this a nice little surprise, huh? Well...not a HUGE surprise that it was good, given 'Crypt Custodian' was also very good, but all the same this was a real treat of a Metroidvania, and one...

I wanna be cool too (I have no idea to quantify being shaped by a video game in some ways but these are ones that meant a lot to me at various points in my life. Chuck in Twilight Princess for the complete 10). #My9Games

That MY 9 GAMES meme template thingy that everyone on the planet is doing, featuring 9 games that 'shaped who I am', in no particular order (And not the only 9 either).
From L-R and down you got ALAN WAKE, METROID PRIME, SILENT HILL 2, HALO REACH, POKEMON YELLOW, TETRIS DX, RESIDENT EVIL 5, ASSASSIN'S CREED and DEAD SPACE.

Me when I'm at the bird sanctuary and someone calls the blue footed ones pigeons.

Negan from the hit(?) TV show The Walking Dead Dead City (??) pointing at something and saying "NO, NO, NO. THOSE ARE BOOBIES" in massive orange letters.

As Halloween approaches, it's kinda weird to think that there aren't a lot of actual horror movies out in October (Clayface mostly), but the year has been so chock-full of all different manner of bangers that you could probably just coast through it checking those out instead.

Your hardline ethical stance on Harry Potter does not mean much when you also simultaneously yeehaw jumping up and down when Five Night Freddy gets added to Fortnite. It alllll funds anti-queer rhetoric when you give them your money.

Gonna instigate a new rule that if you direct a very successful horror movie, and then later on say "I don't see it as a horror film personally", I get to kick you directly in the balls. That way maybe you can grow a new pair and not be ashamed of working in the genre.

Fun Fact: Swan's t-shirt design is loosely based off a villain I designed for the Space Penguin revival comic I never made, once again proving there is no facet of my art that I cannot cram Space Penguin easter eggs only I will understand into.

A sorta...glowy, jackal masked entity designed to be a big villain in a unmade Space Penguin comic project.

The same villain but in a different colour scheme and with slightly differing designs.

Crazy that they put Slippin' Jimmy at #1.

National Comic Book Day? On the verge of spooky season? WOW! What a great time to plug Swan & Ram, the 21 page comic I made earlier this year! It's a rough thing in parts but I put a lotta love into it, and I'd love to get more peepers on it. #Comics #Art #NationalComicBookDay

Google searches are outta control these days.

The top of a Google search thing, with its annoying forced AI shit. Here it's talking about how watching the 2021 movie Titane (Where someone fucks a car) in a drive-in cinema is the ULTIMATE META-EXPERIENCE.

Played through 'Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy'. Although the opening hours were lacking, once this gets going, it's a very beautifully made, if not slightly standard blend of platforming, puzzles, clunky combat and stealth-horror sequences. Ace score, too. Had a lot of fun, despite shortcomings.

Took a punt on this one, despite not having played the previous Plague Tale games, since it was on the ol' Game Pass. Handy thing to have that, sometimes. I got my issues with this game, and in a lot ...

Lotta insane video game stories out today, but the one that really takes the cake is people being mad at the potential of women being added to the video game where you powerwash a dragon's taint. GET REAL.

There's this narrative that 343/Halo Studios fucked up Halo, but the truth of the matter is they made one solid game (Halo 4), one kinda bad game (Halo 5) and an actually pretty great game (Halo Infinite), in addition to a decent remake this year. They did fine, just not fine enough it seems.

I still cannot fucking believe that Xbox had the AUDACITY to announce a new game from Ninja Theory despite the fact that they were already planning to sell off/shut it down. An incredible move that slaps both the playerbase AND their hard working employees in the face at the same time. Fuck off.

Gotta say I'm getting real tired of Futurama's inconsistent writing for Fry. Like, to me he's supposed to be a well-intentioned dunderhead. Not bright, but reasonably with it. Every other episode these days they seem to write him like a child trapped in a man's body, and that's not the same thing.

Red had a good run, looking forward to the last season and still hoping we'll get that Spider-Man team up in the future because I'm a stupid nerd and a whore.

A ★★★★ review of Resident Evil (2026)

Also saw RESIDENT EVIL in IMAX. This was fucking great. Maybe the ending could've hit a bit better, but mostly this was a near-perfect blend of blood and balls to the wall action-horror with humour and jolts to spare. Loved it. letterboxd.com/1thestickman...

A ★★★½ review of Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom (2026)

letterboxd.com/1thestickman... Watched 'Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom' at the ol' cinema today. It's the titular superstars weakest feature outing to date, but that's not to say it's bad at all. It's a very charming, wonderfully animated and super warming little spoopy romp. Very fun.
