Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 11/08/2026Enjoyed the @pickathon.bsky.social music festival. I’ve always loved the vibrant electric aesthetic (is there a word for that?), but it’s always unique to see it in the very natural forest and trails at the farm. #pickathon #lightingDesign 000
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 30/07/2026In spite of my best intentions, I made no art this summer. Returning to figure drawing was a much needed way to shake the rust and once again plot to make a thing beyond this 3 hour window. But very thankful to have this window as I’m so bad at self motivation. #oilPastel #lifedrawing #figuredrawing 040
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 19/07/2026Realizing I haven’t been posting here, so some of my favorite #figureDrawing works from the past few months. All in #oilPastel and 10 to 20 min poses. #lifedrawing 061
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 19/07/2026Some recent #figureDrawing work. Got out the old #Charcoal for on evening as I was just too tired to think about color. 5, 10, and maybe a 15 minute pose. The color is #oilPastel #lifedrawing 080
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 01/03/2026Tasmanian Devils, especially the cubs, are surprisingly adorable - somehow the angry, scruffy, shouting goes full circle to cute. This oil paint and pastel from a photo I took at Healesville Sanctuary. #oilPastel #oilpaint #painting 071
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 26/02/2026I’m now down to nubs on many of my #oilPastels. I’m enjoying the mix of layers, lines, and colors. Now I just need to put it together beyond the 3 hours of a week of #figureDrawing. To the art store for more pastels! #lifeDrawing #pastel 060
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 18/02/2026#figureDrawing in #oilPastel. I didn’t make art this past week so it felt important to keep the hands moving. Still experimenting with color pairings hoping for a dopamine hit. Also I need to be giving more time to how I show tattoos, they bring a lot the page. 10 minutes poses. #lifeDrawing #pastel 051
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 03/02/2026#figureDrawing in #oilPastel in 5 & 10 min poses #lifedrawing #pastel #art 0101
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 25/09/2025Recent #figureDrawing work, focused on shorter poses. These are from 5 & 10 min poses in #oilPastel #drawing #lifedrawing #pastel 090
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 01/09/2025Pair of #pleinair #drawing from a family visit to Montana. One in chalk pastel and one in oil pastel. I’m still trying to hone my travel kit for a big adventure this winter and can’t decide between the two #pastel types. 060
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 30/08/2025Visiting family and reminded of how very introverted I am. So sketched this angel fish while enjoying the serenity of the fish tanks. 010
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 07/07/2025#Pleinair drawing in #oilpastel from a paddleboard adventure. It was drawn while floating, which went better than I expected. I’m still too slow, didn’t have time to finish before it was time to pack up and paddle on. 061
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 06/07/2025#oilpastel portrait @hipboneartstudio.bsky.social - This one wasn’t a very good likeness but I decided to exaggerate the color when I was getting frustrated drawing. I’m still not sure about it although I enjoy how different it is from my usual stuff. 010
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 08/06/2025#pastel of Crater Lake…12x16 miiight be too big of a paper for a canvas for traveling- my partner got very bored while I was working. It was a good stretch for my brain though and a perfect day to be making art in perfect place. #pleinair #art #CraterLake #oilPastel #travel 030
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 29/05/2025A midweek #figuredrawing session @hipboneartstudio.bsky.social This one a 30 min pose in #oilpastel #art #portrait #pastel #lifedrawing 0170
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 17/05/2025Another quick #figuredrawing sketch in #pastel. I still can’t let go of the pencil underlay to get the proportions set, even in a 5min pose - I’m amazed at the many artist with the vision and skill to not need it. #lifedrawing #art 080
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 04/05/2025Drawing @hipboneartstudio.bsky.social - working on being faster to improve my travel drawings. This is a 15 minute #sketch in #oilpastel #lifedrawing #pastel 080
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 20/04/2025#figuredrawing at @hipboneartstudio.bsky.social - not my finest overall, but I think this 15 min study came together nicely. #oilpastel #pastel #art 0202
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 13/04/2025Enjoying my city and its love of odd #bicycle events: 500 lap relay around a large traffic circle. More regatta than race though, complete with people running pancakes to those riding very tall bikes. #portland #pdx #ladds500 0132
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 08/04/2025#bigbotbash by Bill Making Stuff. Decided to try it out (and keep to the recommended height 😬). This is a meaty bot with the Junkboy Generator results: Gooogly head, beefy arms, too many wires, hook hand, weirdo flavor. Haven’t thought up a name for it yet… #scratchbuild #junkbot 030
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 03/04/2025Part of a quick sketch in the park this past weekend. Not my favorite result but it was a pleasant way to spend an hour in the sunshine. 010
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 16/03/2025Spending a weekend near Bend OR and enjoying the winter snow and wonderful trees. Well worth putting chains on the car. Drawing of the forest in oil pastel. #forest #pnw #oilpastel #pastel 030
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 09/03/2025In an art making mood and did a #cat drawing. Cas is a most royal feline, it’s only fitting she pose for a #portrait. Black paper and #oilpastel. 0110
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 09/03/2025I was lucky enough to see Hamilton live…so wow. In honor of Paul Tazewell’s costume design for Hamilton (also he won an Oscar, hot damn!), I did a sketch of Aaron Burr in the style I remember trying to learn in Paul’s class. I still can’t draw or even understand a cravat; some things don’t change. 010
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 06/03/2025Quick 20 minute lunch sketch! Made an improvised sketchbook from some copier paper and a folder, worked great. 040
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 23/02/2025Consumed life drawing at @hipboneartstudio.bsky.social - 3 hour session in #oilPastel A much needed time away from everything to sit and draw. And the model brought some impressive props! #figureDrawing #pastel #portrait 050
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 17/02/2025More and more, I think of Goya. After years of heroic court portraits, he created desperate drawings showing horrors of war. At the end of his life, all he had left was a manic scream into the void painted alone onto the walls of his home. When I see the news or AI “art” sludge, I feel him there. 071
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 06/02/2025I’ve been having a lot of trouble making art lately, life has felt too heavy. Maybe need to get back to figure drawing again, nothing like sitting in a room for 3 hours to force the issue. Here’s an oil pastel from a few months ago from a model session. 030
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 16/01/2025A snowy tree sketch inspired by more winter adventures last weekend and this weekend, I’m a sucker for the picture looking up at tall trees - my phone has a few on every trip. 040
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 29/12/2024Cute bird I met snowshoeing early this month. About a half dozen young fluffy spheres were playing in the snow and checking out my partner and I under the watchful eye of their parents. 040
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 22/12/2024Portions of my Inktober project 2 years ago where I committed to the idea of my cat as the main character in a wordless picture book. While none of these are in my current project planning, but I really liked this sequence. #illustration #drawing 130
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 16/12/2024I always felt like Silent Night was the least interesting Christmas song…until I heard this version by Patrick Vu. Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 13/12/2024Betrayal by the human, bagged and taken to the vet. A traumatic morning for all involved. Cas had Distemper when she was a kitten and lost her eye, but is now a tyrant of an old lady at 16. She is the main character and knows it. 050
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 12/12/2024A sketch from my Inktober this past year - the values/rendering on the car feel like my target for value/detail/linework I should be getting to in my illustrations. And look at this, I remembered hashtags exist! Small victories. #drawing #illustration #art 180
Trevor @thesqarchi.bsky.social · 09/12/2024I’m working on compositions that span a two page spread. Anyone have advice or book suggestions for learning this kind of thing? 020
