Here’s what I think the difference is. $50K is tangible. You can picture it. You know it’s not going to defeat evil, so dressing it up as a donation doesn’t fool anyone. But scale it up.

But many of those same people are completely fine with a billionaire (someone who built his fortune exploiting workers, destroying the environment, and investing in private prisons) donating maybe 5% of that money and being treated like he’s clean. Ethical. Beyond reproach.

I read that a new medication I was prescribed can sometimes worsen the symptoms of someone with an anxiety disorder. I emailed my doctor asking if I should still take it being as I, in fact, have an anxiety disorder and have had medications exacerbate it in the past. /1
