In my 17 years of membership in the club no one wants to join, the thing that is most striking is the value of those who can sit with me in the discomfort of something as profound as the loss of a child without feeling the need to fix it with words. This year, I thank those who have been present through the years when I couldn’t function. And who stayed with me as I became someone new. Those who will still say her name out loud.

The strangest thing about this WVU moment is suddenly since about the last 1/3 of last season, I feel like I’m back to understanding the offense at a very basic level. 3rd and 7 at the opponent’s 45 with four wide? QB draw. Obviously. It hasn’t felt that way in a very long while.
