The White House announced on Christmas Eve President Joe Biden signed a bill officially designating the bald eagle as the national bird. Eagle Mountain Sanctuary, has the largest exhibit of non-releasable Bald Eagles in the United States. and a webcam; shush they are sleeping dweaglecams.org

Otters were eliminated from the Smokies in the early 1900s due to habitat destruction and trapping for their fur. In 1986, the National Park Service started a program to reintroduce otters to Smoky Mountains National Park. Over 8 years, 137 otters were moved to the Smokies!
