Article in WAPO today: “The Kennedy Center was solvent when Trump took over. Then its finances collapsed.” This encapsulates what happens to every org Trump has ever touched. I still can’t fathom why he was given a second term despite most everyone knowing this. Don’t blame me, I voted for Harris!

Today, 9/11/2026, is an enormously sad day. In addition to first responders who acted bravely and gave their lives, let us also remember those that had to claim a car left in an airport or train station parking lot, or waited on a train platform for someone that never returned from work.

As we enter another week of pathetic craziness from the Trump admin, let’s keep our eyes on the basics: Trump has made us less safe, poorer, and sicker as a nation. He is a failed POTUS on so many levels and is the result of a fascist undercurrent the GOP has been courting for many years.

Prepare to see how Trump/GOP economics are sending us into economic calamity. Back to school is a huge retail season - we’ll see how the retail sales numbers continue to soften. Also watch inflation as oil prices climb when our oil reserves deplete and can’t be used to keep prices artificially low.

TheSquare @theskuare.bsky.social · 21/08/2026
A lesson on how to raise energy prices: First, start a war with no strategy or understanding of its implications. Then drain oil reserves to dangerously low levels. Also fail to push for an end to a war between Russia and Ukraine so that global refinery capacity is diminished. Sound familiar?

TheSquare @theskuare.bsky.social · 18/08/2026
Buckle up, folks. Trump and GOP policies are really beginning to take hold. Inflation up, employment down, retail sales down. Soaring debt and treasury yields going up. Add to this depleting oil reserves and defensive weapon stocks and we are on the cusp of real trouble.

Why is it that the legacy media seems to freely use the term “Democratic socialist” but is hesitant to use “Republican fascist”? Based on facts and evidence the latter is much more accurate.

The current Israel-US relationship is based on keeping Netanyahu and Trump in power so they each stay out of jail. When political winds threaten one’s power due to the other the relationship will change very quickly. If I were Netanyahu I’d be worried.

Happy 250th USA! We made it this far, and despite you know who we’ll make it another 250. History will record our time as when we awakened from our slumber and doubled down on the American idea. Things that are difficult are those that matter and when we put our minds to it we can do anything!

With all this incompetent back-and-forth on Iran, made-up vandalism causing algae in the reflecting pool, false claims of election fraud, and continuing culture wars, notice how no one seems to be talking about the Epstein files anymore. Almost makes you think it’s by design.

This is Omaha Beach from a few years ago. If you ever get the chance, visit it yourself and contemplate what happened here in 1944. Feel the immense weight of history on your shoulders. May those who lost their lives in the name of freedom rest in peace, and may their cause not be forgotten.

The Trump presidency is in shambles - low approval ratings, failed policies, high prices, incompetent prosecution of a military operation - among many other failures. But Trump and his cronies are making lots of money. Kind of makes you think that’s the only thing that matters to him.

Periodic reminder that the GOP owns Trump and the messes he has created. Confirming incompetent people to cabinet positions. Failure of Congress to perform its Constitutional duties. Participating in self-dealing and other blatant acts of corruption. Nominating Trump in the first place. I can go on.

We are now seeing predictable results of Trump/GOP policies. Higher costs for most everything. People dropping health insurance. Brain drain due to defunding scientific research. Secret police detaining people without due process. War for no good reason. Vanity projects. This is the GOP world.

TheSquare @theskuare.bsky.social · 08/04/2026
Trump starts a war for no clear reason without Congress’ approval. The US uses up valuable weapons, loses some people, and kills civilians. Pakistan brokers a cease fire. Now we pay Iran to transit Hormuz, they still can process Uranium, and new leaders are more radical than before. So much winning.
011
TheSquare @theskuare.bsky.social · 07/04/2026
Let us see this clearly. Trump continues to use up military assets to attack Iran for no good reason. This has made us much less secure. 1-We are using up valuable weapons 2-We are encouraging direct attacks on the homeland 3-We have lost the cooperation of our allies. What can go wrong?

This will be controversial, but I think it is extremely important for Dems to get a Senate majority in the midterms for the sole reason of using the McConnell Doctrine to delay consideration of any new SCOTUS vacancy until the next POTUS election. Hopefully no vacancies occur before Jan 2027.

TheSquare @theskuare.bsky.social · 04/04/2026
Best summary of the Iran war I’ve heard so far: a tactical success but a massive strategic failure. The US has the most capable military in the world for which I’m thankful (and we’ve paid for it), but there has never been a coherent strategy beyond Trump’s toddler-level mental whims.

TheSquare @theskuare.bsky.social · 02/04/2026
I get the feeling that Trump is about done with the Presidency. He thinks no one wants to cooperate with him, too many people cause him trouble, and gov’t is stupid. He just doesn’t want to put in the effort anymore and thinks he’s above the office. So why not declare victory and just walk away?

Went to dinner with my wife and daughter at a nice but by no means fancy brewpub restaurant. Bill with 20% tip was over $130 for two entrees, an entree salad, a beer and a mixed drink - about $40/person. Thanks to Trump and GOP non-governance for this and $4/gal gas in an already shaky economy.

Trump is now considering diverting US military aid from Ukraine to the Mideast. His level of rank corruption sees no limit. Why not let the filthy rich oil princes pay for their own defense? No, make the country invaded by Russia suffer some more and further degrade European/NATO and US security.

Markwayne Mullin confirmed as head of DHS along party lines by Senate Republicans. Another unqualified Trump worshiper heading the department that’s supposed to protect us from terrorists - just as we stir up the hornet’s nest in the Middle East. Great. Remember that Republicans made this choice.

TheSquare @theskuare.bsky.social · 21/03/2026
It is abundantly clear now more than ever that the Trump admin is dangerously incompetent and corrupt. Our security is threatened, our economy is being driven to recession, and the rule of law is ignored. There are no strategies, just immature bright object reactionism. Thanks, Republicans.

TheSquare @theskuare.bsky.social · 21/03/2026
Just when you thing the idiocy can’t get any worse - now Trump has lifted sanctions on oil from Iran and Russia. We go to war with Iran and respond by allowing them to get more money. Let’s also help Russia. What’s next - gifts of uranium processing equipment to North Korea?

Under Trump the US is less safe, less prosperous, less respected, and less healthy. Why? It’s because he is incompetent, criminally corrupt, dishonorable, and unfit for office. He is enabled by the GOP through Congress’s capitulation and corruption of SCOTUS. Sounds like a great opposition platform!

TheSquare @theskuare.bsky.social · 16/03/2026
Trump stating that we should continue attacking Kharg Island “just for fun” is by itself an automatically impeachable offense. Using our military is not a game. Lives are at stake. It’s as serious as it gets. His flippant attitude is disgusting, perverse, and warrants immediate removal from office.

A serious question to all Americans who have children old enough for military service: do you trust Trump and his military leadership to thoughtfully deploy them and maintain their safety? If not you had better speak up now. I fear his unhinged ambitions will eventually require them to serve.

1/ Here we sit mid-March 2026 and Trump continues to drive the US into deeper and deeper trouble. Starts a war for unknown reasons and without a plan. American lives lost. Munitions depleted. Civilians killed. Energy prices skyrocketing while economy was already fragile. US soft power gone.

TheSquare @theskuare.bsky.social · 09/03/2026
Trump and the GOP are going to feel really bad impacts of their policies very quickly now. The economy is at a tipping point. DHS is less effective with the shutdown. We are at war. Trump and his regime clearly don’t know what they’re doing. Problem is, the rest of us will also feel the splatter.

Among the many things we have learned about Trump’s Operation Epstein Fury is that 1) there is no plan or coherent objective for this war; 2) they forgot to consider that Iran might actually defend itself; and 3) budget cutting and DOGE chaos has weakened our ability to protect our assets.

This Iran war is off to a great start. 4 US casualties, loss of 3 fighter jets to friendly fire, and some of the people the Trump admin identified to lead Iran have been killed by the US. There is no plan forward. Watching oil up almost 8%, natural gas up 5%. So much winning.

TheSquare @theskuare.bsky.social · 28/02/2026
The longer the Epstein War goes on with Iran, the more the Trump regime will learn about the term “unintended consequences”. I find it very hard to believe that any strategic thinking or gaming out of potential outcomes played any part in the decision to launch these attacks.
011
TheSquare @theskuare.bsky.social · 28/02/2026
Trump has once again blatantly violated the Constitution. Launching an attack on a sovereign nation seeking regime change is a declaration of war any way you slice it, and only Congress can declare war. This is an unambiguously impeachable offense. Time to impeach and remove before Americans die.

TheSquare @theskuare.bsky.social · 30/01/2026
A reminder that Trump needs to be impeached and removed from office. Why aren’t Democrats on fire about this? Yes, it was tried twice before and failed because of spineless, complicit Republicans. Have things got better or worse? It should be getting easier! We need to keep trying until it sticks.

All blue state legislatures and governors must pass laws that will prohibit all ICE or border patrol operations within 25 miles of any polling place. Laws are needed by the 2026 midterms to prevent Trump goons from disrupting voting. States control elections; they need to maintain their integrity.

TheSquare @theskuare.bsky.social · 20/01/2026
A regular reminder: Trump soils everything he touches. The sooner we can remove him from office, the less soiling that will occur. Hello GOP Congress - this is solely on you. Time to do damage control. Get a spine.

Please stop all the talk about seizing Greenland. It’s one of the stupidest ideas coming from Trump, and that’s saying something. A great real estate deal - send money and/or troops to set up military bases in a place where we already have military bases. Someone please call out this insanity.

Today’s check in: bad jobs report, citizens killed by federal police, pillaging a sovereign country’s oil and placing proceeds in an offshore account, blatant corruption financially benefiting leaders, POTUS claiming he is only constrained by his “morals”. Year 1 of Trump II off to a good start.

Has the symbolism of an ICE agent murdering someone named Good sunk in? “ICE Murders Good” should be spread far and wide. Never has the truth been more succinctly embodied in a headline.

Happy New Year to all! Let’s hope 2026 is the year we can really start to right the ship. It will take a while, and we have lots of stuff to clean up, and more messes will be made. But the is the United States of America. We can do anything when we work together!

The end of 2025 brings us one year closer to the end of Trump’s 2nd term. In a functioning republic he would have been impeached and removed the first time, prosecuted for his blatant crimes, and in prison. The GOP bears full responsibility for enabling him. They cannot be trusted to govern.

So very sad that Ukraine’s ability to end the war with Russia depends on our simpleton POTUS, his inability to comprehend the situation, and how easy he is to fool and manipulate. Global peace and security is at stake for generations to come, and we have to rely on an ignorant narcissistic idiot.

TheSquare @theskuare.bsky.social · 18/12/2025
Once again our legacy media have sanitized and normalized Trump. His speech last night is described by headlines as “combative”, “bellicose”, “fast-paced”. How can they be trusted to deliver any news when they can’t accurately describe what is clearly obvious to anyone who saw it.

TheSquare @theskuare.bsky.social · 08/12/2025
Recent news about US drug boat attacks and the reactions of those in Congress to seeing videos of an attack further adds to the GOP’s defense of Trump at all costs. They have enabled him and are fully responsible for all of his atrocities from ICE raids to illegitimate SCOTUS rulings. Never forget.

Saw a report today that Kier Starmer, UK PM, has recognized that BREXIT was a bad move for the UK economy, something most rational people saw from the start. Let’s not forget that BREXIT is another right-wing economic policy fueled by their media machine via anti-immigrant and isolationist rhetoric.

Another day, another set of impeachable offenses by the Trump regime. It is truly way past time to impeach and remove Trump for so many crimes that listing them would exceed the character limit of many posts. Need to get the GOP on board or out of the way since it’s clear they won’t convict.

Today the current government shutdown with Trump as POTUS becomes the longest on record. Any guess who was POTUS during the now-second longest shutdown? Donald Trump. Anyone see a pattern here? If you want a dysfunctional and corrupt government count on Trump and the GOP to deliver.

It’s clear that Trump sees no need for Congress. He thinks that he needs no approvals for anything - how to spend money, who to go to war with, who to arrest, detain, and disappear. Congress’ inaction has enabled him. Never forget that the GOP is solely responsible for this.

The so-called “conservative” Trump/GOP has forced gov’t ownership of company shares, directed which companies should merge together, shaken down companies for “donations”, pardoned convicted criminals, and has increased US debt fastest since Trump’s 1st term. Doesn’t sound conservative to me.
