I did a little #gamedev side project yesterday and created an animation browser with #godot that helps me browse my collection of pixel art bought on itch. Seeing the animations in motion and in-engine really helps a lot when deciding what's a fit for your game.

Happy to report that Socke is back to her usual clownery after her surgery. She had the threads removed yesterday and we're now trying to salvage at least some of our vacation with a short trip to Styria.

First time back in my home gym in ages. They switched many of the TechnoGym machines for Egym ones with adjustable resistance curves and really cool workout modes, like using 1.5x weight on the eccentric, fantastic for muscle growth. And then they gave them the most basic range of motion imaginable.

My dog Socke has had surgery yesterday, so my task for today is following her around wherever she decides to lie in the flat to make sure she doesn't claw at her wound. She's been a total champ through the whole process. Hoping she recovers quickly. Even though we had to can our planned vacation.

I usually miss #sharemondays2025, because my mind is just on the week ahead and not on the photos I took recently. But this one is so recent, I'm actually remembering to submit it. A common kingfisher, taken this morning at the Schönauer Traverse in the Naturpark Donauauen, near Vienna 🇦🇹.

The weather did hold. Turns out I was a bit too optimistic with the landscape format and the 50mm lens, however. Had to swap for the wide angle and portrait format after all. Anyways: here's the Haller Mauern at sunset and with the Milky Way.

Since the conditions seemed optimal today, I spontaneously decided to take the camera to one of my favourite View points in the Nationalpark Kalkalpen. All set up and now I just need the weather to hold for another 3h, please.

I took a silly little picture while on Hardangervidda. I'm calling it 'Self portrait with a rock'. The orange glow makes for a nice effect here, but god do I hate the fact that you can't escape light pollution even in the middle of nowhere.

One thing I love about winter in the north is the mornings. Everything drenched in golden light, bringing out all the contours and texture of the snow that at other times looks all flat and white. Everything outside is covered in a crisp layer of frost, and the whole day is ahead of you.

Lovely day out in Bristol today. S might be the new easiest letter for the A to Z #photochallenge, so these are only the highlights we found. Soup and Sourdough. A statue with a sea gull head. A shark. Many gorgeous Staffi-Chihuahua (yes, really) puppies.

According to the alphabet, O comes right after N in the A to Z #photochallenge. Yesterday inspired me to take my #RicohGRII out for a spin today as well, so two of these are from my phone, two are from the Ricoh. The Vienna Opera house. An Omega Speedmaster watch. Openings. An office building.

Was busy yesterday and completely forgot about the #photochallenge until way too late. So the letter N is today. N for nothing. That was my experience for the first 90 min of my walk. What even starts with N? Then I did find something. A newspaper thingie. A nesting box. Nature. The Neinhorn.

Letter M in the A to Z #photochallenge. Halfway through and I didn't have to resort to German or Norsk words. Here's a Meta (hah) M word: mindfulness. This challenge has been a great exercise for that. A gumball machine. Mario. A menacing cloud. The memorial for Austrian victims of the Shoah.

After the crucible that was I to K, the letter L is an absolute breeze to work with. I got so many L words, it's hard to pick favourites, and I even stopped taking pictures in the end. Here's a few. A lake. A lion. The seal of the Lebanese embassy. Layers. A to Z #photochallenge.

Day...whatever on the A to Z #photochallenge. Can't remember numbers, but It's the letter I today. That was fairly difficult. It seems there aren't that many words with I around outside. An inscription. An iron pipe. Ivy. An inconvenience.

The A to Z #photochallenge has arrived on the letter H. Only a short walk today, because it's grey and drizzling. A garden hose. A hayball. Horses. A hedgehog (sadly not a real one).

Today was the letter G for my #photochallenge. G has lots of easy wins, but I tried looking for more unusual things and found them. Lots of discarded gloves. A garden gnome. Garfield. A grind rail.

A single faded pink glove is placed on a branch in front of a field. It has a lighter pink cuff made of artificial fur. Presumably it has been lost by someone.
