I adore Dracula. People who have never read it think it's some dry serious book but it's absolutely hilarious.

It's got the weirdest buckling at the top of the arm. Like the shoulders are too big, but the arms are too small? Also, SIR WHERE ARE YOUR SOCKS.

I've been to towns up North that are almost entirely populated by seniors because the jobs are elsewhere. They're chronically underserved by doctors and hospitals are miles away. Housing is cheap, but food is much more expensive because of transportation costs. (Canadian Shield no good for crops.)

Do you have sources for those stats? I been convinced for a long time that we have a glut of empty condos in Toronto, but I've never been able to find a source for concrete numbers.

It looks to me like barrel chest. Common in people who grew up before childhood asthma treatments were as good as they are now. (I have a touch of it, but not as bad.)

People are complaining it's difficult to drive on. It's a residential street. That's the point, it slows you down. I want to write a column that is just THIS IS A SKILLS ISSUE over and over for 800 words. Drivers here are skillless. ok rant over, needed to get it out, living rent free for days

Another handpainted sign is screwed to a light post. This time the background is vertical stripes of beige, brown, red, black, and pink. The image on the left is a bright blue eye. There is a yellow '+' in the centre and a human ear on the right.

From tonight's walk
A handpainted piece of wood is screwed to a light pole. The background is painted dark blue, there is a yellow and black honey bee on the left and a black-and white drawing of a well on the right.

I imagine the message to be self explanatory.

I got invited to smoke a cigar at a wedding recently and I was so sad about declining, but it would have meant standing with the cigarette smokers and I am deathly allergic to something in cigarettes.

Bootsy Collins
Bootsy Collins is a black man wearing a bright green suit in a shimmering fabric with matching top hat. His head is thrown back with an incandescent grin on his face. He holds two bass guitars with the necks crossed in front of him. One is black with a traditionally shaped body and green flames painted on the front. The other bass is white and star shaped, with the upper points of the star curved inward like horns.

I'm convinced Adams hated the series by the end, but that he was pushed into continuing by a publisher who knew it would make money regardless. That last book is so grim.

I've seen Reddit posts by mid-teens asking for advise on how to best get their vaccinations in secret as soon as they are legally able. I always cheer for those kids. (And also posts by parents asking how they can sue doctors for doing it. Not possible in my province at least.)

He doesn't have to adopt shit. But he threw one of his opening acts under the bus. It was a professional discourtesy, and he could have said no. At most he would have lost a couple of shows off the tour. Actions have consequences, and it was his actions that got him here.

I'm sure some people paid to see Macklemore, he's pretty successful in his own right. Losing a few venues is not cancelling a tour. But now he's lost a bunch of his support acts including his own backing band, so good job I guess.

The Siobhan @thesiobhan.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
By removing somebody from his tour for their political stance, isn't he exerting pressure you're saying he should be free from? Why should he be allowed to play when Macklemore isn't?

My family just put a tracker on my dad's outdoor shoes because he has dementia and once got away from his wife when she was distracted. The app wants to know an unholy amount of information about me, and I have to check it on the regular to make sure *my* location stays turned off.

A shot from the edge of the paining where the bridge ends. There is another black-and-white cutout, the man is standing on the rails and posing facing the viewer with one leg raised.

Above him is a faint image of two men in a rowboat - it's the kind of art you would see in an old cigarette ad. There are other images and words, but they have been overlaid with paint so it difficult to make them out, one appears to be a woman with her back to the viewer and her hands on her hips.

There is a repeating black-and white pattern down the edge, it's overlapping scallops that almost look like stylised fish scales.

Another closeup of the silhouettes, this time three people facing the water. One has his hands in the air.

There are two more black-and-white cutouts of men. They appear to be in different martial arts stances. (Tai chi maybe? I know shit about martial arts.) One is balanced on a rock in front of the bridge, the other is standing with his feet on the heads of two of the silhouettes.

A close up of one of the silhouettes. It's Bigfoot. I shit you not, Bigfoot. Bigfoot is crossing the bridge and appears to be wearing a diver's helmet. Behind him is a cutout black-and-white image of a man standing on the rails and pushing him.

In the upper right is a semi-transparent image in brown of a child on a bicycle with a dog next to them. Blue text on a blue background says "All Boats rise"

Yesterday was vet day. Sitting in the waiting room and I took a closer look at the painting for the first time. There is text behind the chairs that says "Toronto Barrel-Riders Association"
A wall-sized painting in front of three chairs. From a distance it looks like a lovely image of a waterfall. There is a bridge at the base with silhouettes of people looking up at the water.

The same box, all drawers now open. There is a mirror on the inside of the lid, a sign on the back interior wall that says "Take a Trinket / Leave a Trinket". It's not easy to see, but the drawers are full of stickers, buttons, small toys, and figurines.

A box mounted on a fence is a swirl of bright colours. It has small drawers and "Parkdale Trinket Exchange" is painted on the side.

Orphan Black's Siobhan: Got Biscuits in My Pocket
