We had graduation tonight. If you’re a teacher you know that your students are in some ways like your own kids. This particular class I taught in 8th grade and then again last year. Graduation is so bittersweet. All the feels. So happy for the guys though. They have bright futures!

The oncologist says stage 1. They got it all so no chemo! He will always have stage 4 malignant melanoma but currently there is no cancer and we’ll pray it never returns. He has scans every 3 mnths for yrs. Wes is feeling great. The Lord is so very good to us! Thank you so much for all your prayers!

I spy… Yes, they’re adorable, but they are crafty little guys. I laid out my Hokas to wear today, and when I got up this morning they had hidden one of my shoes. People, the kitties hid a whole entire shoe and I couldn’t find it anywhere. They knew that I couldn’t go to work with just one shoe.

Apparently these fiends did this while I was sleeping in the same room! Suspect 1: Boo. His name makes him sus. Although born only one day after his brother he is faster. Suspect 2: Teddy. Bigger and stronger though slower. Whodunit?

After 6 sessions of communicants class and an interview with our pastor and my daughter, 6 year old joined the church today. She was super excited. She chooses what she wears each day, so I guess trad child was the fit she chose for the day.

One never knows what will contribute to the spiritual formation of a child. 8 year old’s Nana was doing the Scripture reading today. Before church D told my daughter he wanted to read the NT passage because “Someday I will be the head of the ninjas and I will need to know how to speak in public.”

Photo of the day: We have 27 yard dogs that live next door to us. If you leave your shoes on your porch, they will steal them. When the owner of the dogs finds it she’ll put it on top of her mailbox. Looks like there are two on there today.

The surgeon came in this morning to tell us they had the path report done - days earlier than we expected. He said the margins were clear and there was no cancer in any of the lymph nodes. This means they got it all!! All praise be to our good Father!!!

1/2 The surgeon came in this am to tell us that they almost lost him yesterday, but that in the end he was able to close the resection. This brush with death is not lost on me.

1/3 Wes’ “2-4 hour” surgery ended up being 7.5 hours long. The doctor said the surgery was very complicated but he feels very good about the results. It was a very scary day, and I am beyond grateful to be in the hospital room with him now.

If you pray could you pray for Wes? He’s having major surgery later this week to remove a lot of intestine around the tumor that was found last month. I will update you after the surgery, but if you could start praying now we’d be so grateful. Thank you.

Annual Girl Scout cookie tasting test. My daughter and I are 100% Samoa girls followed by frozen Thin Mints. The two older kids liked the Thin Mints and the Adventurefuls. The youngest said she liked them all. Wes likes the Tagalongs and the Lemonades.

In my 30s I realized that I could no longer swing on a swing w/o getting very nauseated. Apparently this is a common problem for adults. There seem to be a couple of different scientific theories - vestibular issues or psychological issues with processing rapid change in our environment. Thoughts?

Teddy spoke! Until now he’s been mute. On rare occasions if he really wants something he will make the soft h sound. Tonight the kitties saw a small bug on the ceiling. Ted’s been talking to the bug. It’s kind of a throaty sound, hard to describe. How far apart in age do you think the kitties are?

My 2 oldest kids went to college here. I visited several times a year. When I moved here from Charlotte in 2018 I had no idea just how small Chatt is. Tonight I’ve seen 2 people I know. Also the guys sitting next to us went to the same college and we have tons of connections! Chatt is so tiny.

We’re at the brand new Chattanooga Lookouts ballpark!! This is the day after opening day. Wes bought us front row seats because he’s that wonderful!! The Lookouts are a AA farm team for the Reds. The brand new park is beautiful!!

Last week my daughter hid 80 Easter eggs in my yard. The kids found 73. Today they found 3 more. 6yo to me: This is your fault! Me: Your Mom hid the eggs! 6yo: But you’re her Mom and you taught her how to hide eggs too well.
