Roadless areas in Great Britain are, on average, substantially smaller than the rest of Europe; 7.77 km2 in GB compared to 48 km2in Europe. Such high fragmentation means species with large home rages frequently cross roads. www.nature.com/articles/s41... #roadkill #citsci #ecology

Many thanks to everyone that contributes reports to us – we have produced a new paper with the data you share. In this one we quantified the size and number of roadless patches in the UK, finding over 70% were smaller than 1km2.
