But idk usually when something is popular that I don’t care for or used to but don’t anymore, I just move on. Never understood the thought process behind focusing so much on something you don’t like. With awards I’d rarely expect my personal favorite to line up with everyone else’s or critics

I doubt they had TGA much in mind tbh just happened to work out that way. Rockstar north has one of the most near universal praise track records among critics & audience, it’s probably gonna be a great game. I didn’t care for BG3 in 2023 but I recognized its quality & was happy for those who played

Rockstar north has an unbelievable track record of quality. Obviously not everyone will love everything, and that’s fine, but almost no other studio has the consistent track record of near universal praise as they do. Idc how big or small a game is, good is good 🤷‍♂️

There are also gaming awards for Indie games. But I don’t understand caring about budget with TGA, it should be the voting panel’s best game regardless of budget. There have been plenty of bad big budget games and indie games as well, budget doesn’t inherently dictate quality

Almost a week later, really hope they say something by Friday. Even if it was next year for some bizarre reason, I’d like to get an actual date. Being told early October for over a month only to get told keep waiting was strange lol. Nice to be confirmed eligible but almost there (hopefully!)

It’s a display price with comparable prices. I’m just gonna get the game, I’ll skip this. But it’s not really that big of a deal. If it was $200+ without game, sure. This is whatever.

with games* They’re calling it a collector box, not a collector edition. RDR2 did the same thing back in 2018. If they included the game it would’ve been $200+, so idrc if it’s separated. People need to look up prices of statues and premium collectibles, it’s not like this is a $50 toy.

Depends how big & quality the statue is. A lot of collectors editions either games are $200-230+. The cards and art book are probably like $30/40 max. So that leaves around $110 for the light up statue. That’s not that crazy a price compared with other premium statues.

Economy will play somewhat of a small part but that goes for anything not just movies (switch 2 & games still make lots of money). People aren’t skipping Wildwood because they’re saving for Avengers or Dune. Unfortunately, they were likely going to skip it like they skipped the last 4 Laika films.

Again not relevant. Economy sucks yes but that’s not why Wildwood might flop, Laika’s only profitable film is Coraline. Resident Evil, Verity, Obsession, Backrooms, Project Hail Mary, The Drama, Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey, etc & many games, media, etc have all still profited during this time.

I don’t think that’s relevant to the success of Wildwood or Forgotten Island, plenty of new movies are making money in the meantime & have been making money since we knew dunesday was a thing. I’ll support Wildwood & spread the word, hopefully it can surprise. Laika deserves success

Like it’s not the box office trackers fault that Wildwood probably won’t do well. They’re just saying it how it is. Look what happened with Forgotten Island, great film that most people didn’t give a chance. Unfortunately Laika has never had success at the box office outside of Coraline.
