I have decided that I’ll do a little raffle for yall to celebrate hitting 200 followers! It’ll have to happen after I finish some of my papers but expect it in a couple weeks :)

I recently transitioned my comms page from Artistree to VGen since it’s a bit more well-known (nothing wrong with Artistree btw). Although I’m a bit busy right now, please consider checking out my page! I can still do comms, it’ll just take more time (~2 weeks). www.commissions.gg/theredbarcode

Hi, I'm Red! I mainly draw fantasy humanoid characters but I can draw animals as well as people. I don't mind drawing blood, light gore, and artistic nudity! If I sound like your cup of tea I will hap...

Thank you guys for 200 followers!!! I really appreciate yall supporting me since life has been a bit stressful for me. How do yall feel about a raffle or something along those lines? I also have some sketches to share :) #artsky #blackartist #sketch #furry #conceptart #ocart #originalcharacter

Diana (half-elf) and Talos (dragon, shapeshifter), respectively, holding a collapsible staff and a kilij (type of curved sword). There is no animosity between them just a prelude to a sparring session. Both have smiles on their faces.

Concept art for a tiger person. The left shows the transformation, and notably more animalistic face, of the tiger person while on the right shows a more humanoid face. Their body grows by at least a foot and they are more ‘feral’. The right also shows the defensive position of the more animalistic transformation.

Talos and Diana having different facial expressions. The expressions are confident, surprised, angry, confused, and flustered.

Hey yall! I’m gonna have to take a break from posting a lot to focus on my studies. I’m too broke to fail right now. I appreciate yall supporting me—even just liking my work motivates me. Hopefully one day I can go freelance :) #artsky #furry #ocart #illustration #blackartist #darkfantasy

Dario Pawl, a humanoid lion/chetah man and Sheriff of No Man’s Land looking down at the audience. The time of day is midnight with a blood moon. His weapon, Chain of Command, is wrapped around his right hand—it has the ability to turn blood into water. He’s other weapon, a revolver, is tucked in his holster on the left. He’s wearing a dark brown cowboy hat, a red cloth covering his face and neck, a brown cloak with a red inner lining, and his turquoise uniform underneath the cloak.

I was imagining this scene the other day and told myself to just draw it. Real happy I did. I love this manga (and especially anime) so much :) #dorohedoro #dorohedorofanart #artsky #illustration #blackartist

Gyoza Fairy, a little dumpling man, running away from Kikurage, a pink cat-like creature. The Hungry Bug (name of the restaurant) is full in the background. From left to right are Nikaido, Kaiman, Shin, Noi, and Ebisu. Kaiman has a lizard head while Ebisu has a skull mask with horns on top.

I know im posting a little later than I usually would but I can’t help myself this time. I haven’t draw these two together in a minute and I’m happy I did. I can see my improvements with my art :) #art #redraw #ocart #illustration #blackartist #ocredraw #redesign

Talos, a humanoid dragon and shapeshifter, and Cheese, a horse-like creature with lion and goat attributes, sleeping together in their home. Talos is laying on Cheese’s side while Cheese is curled up around her.
They live in a cave behind a waterfall. Talos has made a fire prior to sleeping to keep them warmer for a little longer. She also hung up a poster of her alter ego, Artemis of The Pit (a title she earned while fighting in the dragon kingdom), and some meat for later.

Talos and Cheese taking a nap outside. Cheese is almost in loaf position while Talos is laying on his side with a pillow.

Talos, Cheese, and Diana sleeping together in an open field.

I got a new tablet thanks to my parents! I haven’t been able to stop drawing ever since :). Before it broke, I was creating a solo Diana piece since I haven’t really expanded on her yet. Let me know what yall think! (Lore in alt) #ocart #darkfantasy #illustration #blackartist #conceptart #artsky

Diana and a dual-colored (black and white) seraphim pigeon staring at each other. The time looks to be evening and the forest they are surrounded by is filled with lavender trees—some baring fruit. The seraph is holding a twig wrapped with silk and lifting two small golden rings towards the direction Diana is going.

Lore:

After a hectic day of being an executioner, the last thing Diana expected was to be greeted by a holy presence. A dual-colored (black and white) seraphim pigeon perched within the fruitful tree next to her. She briefly questioned with awe on whether this was merely by chance, maybe meant for someone else hiding among the forest. With a quickness, she realized the error in her thoughts for Irwin, Spirit of Balance, doesn’t leave chance encounters when it comes to their messages—this was rare, holy, and meant for her. As the seraph stared into her mask hiding her eyes, it soon broke off a twig from the tree it stood on, wrapped one end with silk from its wings, and tied two small golden rings hanging along the same direction she was standing. When it held the finished twig firmly in its beak, Diana knew the message was ready. Despite her inexperience with godly encounters, something perched into her soul: There’s fortune coming her way.
Instead of warmth filling her heart, there was nothing but dread in its place. What ‘forture’ could come from being an executioner? She hoped she wouldn’t have to find out too soon.

Felt like experimenting with some character designs yesterday and ended up making this guy. I may make him an actual oc of mine one day. Lore ideas in the alt text #furry #queerart #transmasc #illustration #blackartist #watercolor #fantasyart #artsky

Blue Bull King (he/they) holding two magical axes. Their hair, eyes, and tail are a bright red. They have purple hoof scars on his chest and legs. They have gold accessories all over their body (horn crown, makeup around his eyes, a medal-lined necklace, arm bracelets, tattoo, belt, skirt, tail bracelet, and hooves). His gold skirt in particular has green cloth lining it while his axes have it around the ends. He also has a cotton cape and cotton lined on his belt.

Lore-wise, they was blessed by Goel, God of Land and Transformations (also known as the creator of all beastmen including Talos), when they transitioned. He became king after proving his worth to his tribe—basic king trials to show endurance, strength, and smarts. Besides ruling over cowmen, they’re also in charge of other prey-like beastmen. One of them are the sheepmen who gave him his cape and belt in gratitude. Another are the cowmen who made his other accessories along with his magical axes lined with air stones (it makes them act as a boomerang when he throws them). Lastly, birds are sacred creatures in this world which is why it’s all over his accessories. Think of his as leaning towards a songbird.

My drawing tablet is broken :(. I had it for about eight years or so. I can’t afford a new one atm so I’ll just be doing traditional art for now. I painted my girls to help me feel better (the sketches are a bonus for yall) #art #artsky #blackartist #queerart #lesbianart #ocart #watercolor

Talos and Diana dancing together happily. Talos is in her elf form with long cloth covering her chest while Diana has a long sleeve suit. They’re both wearing long pants—Talos’s is more loose so she can hide her tail. They’re wearing each other’s colors—green to represent Diana’s eyes and red to represent Talos’s scales. Diana doesn’t really know how to dance so she’s letting Talos lead.

From up to down, left to right:

Dario smoking menacingly
Talos giving into her bloodlust/berserker mode
Diana lifting a big log
Talos kidnapped by the Ironclad Sirens

Text from up to down, left to right:
“Before”
“After”
“Talos learning to write in the common language”
Art from up to down, left to right:
Diana and Talos in the Ironclad prisons. Diana gave Talos a blanket and fire stone for warmth. Her job is to execute her but she wants to show mercy. Talos is unsure of her motives since she doesn’t fully understand what she’s saying.
Diana and Talos in an undisclosed location. Diana is teaching Talos how to write the common language. Talos is pretty nervous about writing it.

Tw: Blood Felt like drawing whatever was on my mind this time—no references, just thoughts. I might make some tweaks to this later but it was overall fun to make :) #art #blackartist #illustration #blood #nature #environment #artsky #digitalart

A vibrant portrait of a landscape with trees and mountains in the background. The time looks to be midday. The foreground has some bushes and cattails by a flowing river but something is off. There is fresh bloodstain in the grass and a puddle of blood in the river. What happened here? Nobody knows but the day carries on.

Watercolor painting of a wolverine coming out of a river. The colors stick to earthly tones to match the reference photo (brown, green, and some blues here and there).

Metal bull in a grassy setting. The bull has white eyes, yellow teeth, red horns and hooves, various shades of light brown for the head and body, and a silver tail with a spike at the end. The background is a mix of a blue sky with clouds, a purple landscape, grey trees, and green grass.

Artist! Drop something creepy! Here’s Uma, Goddess of War and Wisdom :)

Uma, Goddesses of War and Wisdom, in her unicorn form. She has a red, flesh-like, horse skull for a face with four multicolored eyes (two are placed vertically at the center of her face while the others are where the eyes should be. Her teeth and horn are golden with the structure of her teeth having two additionaE giant canines. Her dark blue mane covers her neck.
At the base of her nose, she has a giant white gem which is her actual form.

Uma with her mouth open next to the study of a horse skull. Inside her mouth is an additional set of teeth-the only set that's golden are the ones that visible without opening her mouth. The rest are a stained off-white color. Her tongue is black and absorbing the ashes of the fallen. Once she consumes enough her whole face turns black and, despite not needing to eat, will feel a sense of fullness. With that feeling, she can turn the ash into black gold, a magical material that is practically indestructible (unless it's hit with itself using a certain amount of force) and fairly versatile when in the right hands.

Was messing around with some centaur design last night. It’s a little all over the place but I think I like where it’s going. I also drew an elf cuz why not? :) #art #watercolor #oilpastel #painting #centaur #ocart #originalcharacter #characterdesign #armordesign #blackartist #artsky

Starting from left to right, up to down:

A blond elf with vitiligo and golden eyes to imply they have light powers. They have sad expression with tears in their eyes.

A dark-skinned centaur with green hair and green eyes to imply they have plant powers. They have a solemn expression.

A centaur with red eyes (fire powers) in black armor standing on their back legs holding a spear. The headgear consists of a black Roman Praetorian inspired headpiece with a black horn in the center—within it is a red gemstone that gives the wearer fire limited fire abilities—and a red mouth covering with golden teeth, giving the appearance of flayed flesh. The breastplate made to look like feathers up close (same with the arm pieces) and the shoulder gear looks like a unicorn. Finally, there is a red cloth tied around their humanoid waist and small black armor pieces on their horse legs.

Close up of centaur with headgear. This time their eyes are blue (water powers) and they have a blue gem in their horn.

Uma, Goddess of War and Wisdom—the goddess the centaurs worship and inspire their armor after. Her face is red with golden jagged teeth, her eyes are multicolored and drip with a black substance, her headgear is more horn-like overall and she has fire for hair. In her alternate form (not shown here) she is a black unicorn with a red face, golden horn, and has a phoenix as a tail.

Been feeling pretty out of it. I haven’t been creating as much and it’s like I have an out of body experience every five seconds. I feel like I can’t do much about it at the moment but I took some time to draw my girls. I believe I’m getting better at drawing affection :) #ocart #artsky #blackartist

Talos in her elf form hugging Diana at a stream. Their clothing looks pretty plain since they’re in hiding. They’re sitting on solid gold right now since they are in a queendom that praises Uma, Goddess of War and Wisdom. The background is a reddish-pinkish hue.

Diana kissing Talos and holding her tight.

I know I should wait but I never get to post these monsters together ;(. I’m not even sure if I’ve shown them both here before besides my character line-up from last year. Here’s the Devil King and Wolfy :) #artsky #digitalart #demonart #originalcharacterart #blackartist #illustration #darkfantasy

Most of the Devil King’s body is obscured except for a third of his face, his three eyes, and horns. His skin is purple and eyes are slightly yellow.

Lore wise, he’s not someone who is easily fooled. His top eye is able to show him the future of those who aren’t his class type (pulgi and monogamas). After taking over Gomelia, the kingdom of dragons, he set his sights on the rest of the world while keeping an eye on Talos. She best not disappoint him.

Wolfy with most of his body obscured except for his mouth and a bit of his suit. His skin is red and he has a smile on his face. He has a small beard, a blue scar across his face, two silver earrings a one horn on the center of his forehead. His suit consists of a black overcoat with a dark purple interior, a tan suit, a purple tie, and a white undershirt.

Lore wise, Wolfy likes to fool around whenever he can but knows when to get serious with the Devil King. He used to be his manservant after all. With his current position, he’s able to unite the lands under the Devil King’s name, just as Irwin, Spirit of Balance and Time, has intended. Buuut a little fun on these missions never hurt anybody—at least no one important that is.

TW: Blood Sorry yall, got busy again with life stuff. I think I’ll be able to just post once a month at this point. I also have a little surprise for yall for tomorrow. Here’s some character art I’ve been working on in the meantime :) #artsky #digitalart #blackartist #originalcharacterart #blood

Talos behind bars. She’s on all fours in a defensive stance. Her mouth, hands, and feet are all bloody implying that she attacked her assailants. Her skeleton is partially glowing on said places and her pupils have shrunken. Her mouth is open with steam coming out of it like an angry lizard ready to strike.
Her cell has a pool of blood under her mouth, scratches scattered along the wall and floor and bent bars from her initial attack.

Lore wise, this is during the time she gets kidnapped by the mercenary group called the Ironclad Sirens. They underestimated her strength as she was unconscious when they got her and, with Talos being a hybrid, they didn’t know what she was exactly. Was she a dragon? A shapeshifter who loves dragons? A defect or something? Her wardens found out the hard way.
