The Tea Party was a pain-in-the-side fringe for the establishment Repubs until Trump adopted the persona and re-branded as MAGA. The same type of re-brand needs to happen for "liberals". "Liberal" now has a strong negative connotation with voters since Repubs effectively defined it.
