In reviewing commentary about what the video is about, the commonly accepted reading is that it is about spectacle and distraction; specifically, how entertainment and violence coexist in American culture, and how attention gets pulled toward one while the other continues unaddressed.

I didn't get asked if I thought this was a good idea at the time (perhaps I wasn't in someone's phonebook at the time), but someone did, and through that organization, hundreds if not thousands of people were educated about this devastating disease, and lives were saved.

This interaction reminded me of when I served on the board of the Victorian AIDS Council in the mid-80's, and I am still thankful that a very small group of people decided that the "gay cancer" that was killing gay men was something worth organizing around.

Good question, but I think at this point in time the answer is no. We already have some amazing organizations here in the US that do exactly this. Why would be replicate or compete with them. Rather, we need to collaborate more with groups, and we will do that when the opportunity arises.

Organizations do it all the time, so as long as an organization is a legal entity (which FUNN is), and operates within the State and Federal laws as it relates to our operations - which includes having articles, bylaws, and management agreements - which we do, I am not sure why you are so opposed.

Not all, but definitely some. We will evolve based on how our members guide the organization moving forward. Very few existing orgs meet the standards you suggest today, and I agree that we need to move towards that more. Our 1st goal was simple: give a voice to US-based naturists at INF-FNI ✔️

As I mentioned to @clothesfreelife.com conversations were had by reaching out to people and organizations, than posting on social media. I think this thread is a good example of how those posts may have evolved. Sometimes it is easier to pick up the phone and talk with people. Which is what we did.

In some cases, some organizers did bring people together and a group was formed, but I am unaware of a group of people randomly being in the same place, and they decided to start a group without someone taking the steps to bring those people together for that purpose.

Which statement? I have worked with nonprofits in both Australia and the USA for over 38 years: as a board member, volunteer and a staff member. In every one of those cases a need was identified, and each one of those had a group of people that worked to bring that nonprofit to life.

There were many discussions over the course of the last six months, extending well beyond the three of us. I originally proposed developing this when I served on the boards of NAC and NEF in February 2022. I also raised this when I served on the board of TNSF in 2024 or 2025.

This is a great question, and observation. Yes, we are three white men: one LGBTQ+ and two straight men. Historically, most nonprofits have been started because (1) a need was identified; and (2) people got together and did something to meet that need.

The development of FUNN is to allow U.S.-based naturists and nudists to gather around with our international colleagues and provide a US-based voice at the table, which we have not had since 2009. The last representative organization that held this position was AANR.

The two largest organizations at a national level were both approached over the years to consider taking this action; however, neither of them has been in a position to step up and take this on, given some of the requirements within INF's rules.

The development of FUNN has been a work in progress for the last six months or so and is not without attempts to find an alternative solution to create an organization that would allow INF to recognize a U.S.-based organization. Regular communication with INF-FNI has occurred during this time.
