Aoife Daly @thereadersdropinn.bsky.social · 30/03/2025Just because you don’t see my anxiety and trauma doesn’t mean it’s not there. Just because you don’t see how hard it is for my child to do do things that are easy for a neurotypical child doesn’t mean it isn’t there. What do you do when family doesn’t understand your child’s neurodivergence? 000

Aoife Daly @thereadersdropinn.bsky.social · 06/03/2025When your child is struggling with reading or if you just want to help build a world where ALL kids can read like me, this podcast is ALWAYS the first step I recommend. It’s an easy way to learn why we’re in this literacy crisis and how we can get out of it. 000
Aoife Daly @thereadersdropinn.bsky.social · 06/03/2025What if you stopped trying to be what people wanted you to be and started just being yourself? Even if that’s weird and awkward. 000
Aoife Daly @thereadersdropinn.bsky.social · 06/03/2025I love that for you. We just moved, and it was a visiting pediatrician. It took a long time for me to come to terms with ADHD in a world that caters to the neurotypical, so it was hard. I had been hoping to be affirmed and supported. 010
Aoife Daly @thereadersdropinn.bsky.social · 01/03/2025It’s hard to advocate for your child and trust your mom self when you’re going through tough stuff. That’s how I’m feeling right now. I just wish I could find a pediatrician who’s positive about neurodivergence and homeschooling. How have you dealt? 130
Aoife Daly @thereadersdropinn.bsky.social · 24/02/2025Today I’m reminded of Anna Gillingham’s quote, “Go as fast as you can and as slow as you need.” I find I have the tendency to go too slow in our homeschool, the desire to know every concept had been mastered. …And in the process boring my ADHD son. How about you? 000
Aoife Daly @thereadersdropinn.bsky.social · 19/02/2025We know there’s a science behind teaching ALL kids to read, so why are we STILL in a literacy crisis? It’s not (only) because of the pandemic … Too many people have chosen to ignore the research, many times being sneaky about it. Too many curriculums chose profit over helping our kids read. 031
Aoife Daly @thereadersdropinn.bsky.social · 17/02/2025How did we get into this literacy crisis in the first place? Colleges that train teachers chose to follow educators with philosophies of how reading should be taught. Not based on research. But now we can now look into the brain and see what the most effective way to teach ALL kids to read. 000
Aoife Daly @thereadersdropinn.bsky.social · 15/02/2025Really Great Reading trainings have been my favorite. I’ve done a few. On Zoom, super informative and very helpful. Let me know if you find any good ones too😊 000
