pretending like everyone has taken a side and immediately get hostile and accusatory when the undecided majority do/say something "problematic" because they genuinely don't know any better does nothing other than sabotaging your own cause and driving the undecided away

yes, these are all very important and serious issues and folks ought to learn more, but the fact of the matter is that this just currently isn't the case

180

TheProtagonists @theprotagonists.bsky.social · 22h

for better or worse, the average person on this planet HAVE NO STRONG OPINION about democracy, censorship, genAI, mass surveillance, LGBTQ rights, climate change, urbanism, overconsumption, class consciousness and so on

181

TheProtagonists @theprotagonists.bsky.social · 22h

most people who use genAI aren't "pro AI techbros", they simply haven't thought about the consequences of overrelying on them

1100

TheProtagonists @theprotagonists.bsky.social · 22h

"china/japan/skorea LOVES genAI and anti AI sentiment is a western thing" "the reason payment processors pressure services to ban porn is because only westerners are anti porn puritans" the inconvenient truth is the average person regardless of background don't think about these on a regular basis

190

TheProtagonists @theprotagonists.bsky.social · 22h

I feel like people online VASTLY overestimate how much an average person think about certain social issues everyone online acts like everyone else has already taken a side and it's us vs them, when the reality is more like 5% us 5% them and 90% that aren't aware there is even an issue to begin with

I find it kinda funny how the Space Shuttle has become the default spaceship for many movies, with increasingly wacky variants depending on the plot

I honestly feel like for the entirety of TLJ there were very little wrong with any spaceship themselves and all the problems come from how they were being used

Ive started this one long before spaceshiptember, but day 6 nicely lines up with the subject theme, so lets roll with it #Spaceshiptember Day 6: Carrier! - A wing of SVS-250 Hoplite(reporting name "switchblade") fighters, launching from an auxiliary carrier Konrad Adenauer - #SST26

grey, geometrically simple space fighter launching from a carrier. A number of opening and closing doors seen on the hull of the carrier, as well as addiditional fighters seen reversing out of the hangar.
