Nut and saddle carved from a countertop color sample I found in the dirt

Bridge carved from an aluminum heatsink

Knobs from a bizarre karaoke amp

Switch, jack, wiring, potentiometers, capacitors from an antique radio supply shop in Arizona

Bridge pickup from a Jackson/Charvel, gifted from a buddy who played in a local hair metal band

Neck pickup new, from Oripure, a Chinese company, ordered direct

I also have a used German Hamer pickup, a chrome model from one of their more expensive instruments

The neck I custom ordered direct from a Chinese company - one with no fretboard inlays and a reverse Charvel headstock, was stolen before I could install it

I used one instead from a $66 w/tax American made AXL from a pawnbroker

Because this neck does not have a tilt-back headstock, the tuners, non-staggered, did not sit where they need to be

I 'solved' this by shaving part of the back of the headstock

This is not ideal

Also, the neck pocket is shimmed with more aluminum heat sink

Also, not ideal

This has resulted in slight tuning instability, which is not the fault of the most excellent tuning machines

By the way, you CANNOT cheap out on tuners

A set of six will run you at least $65, maybe twice that much
