Just saw this:
Claude Code

I am done with this shit. It is over. The state of engineering right now is horrible. It has been half a month since I started a new role at a big company.
Nobody knows anything here. The specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets, resolution of those tickets, reports, etc., everything is made by Claude Code. Nobody on my team likes this. They are being forced to ship as much as they can. I have heard multiple times from higher management that pushing code is not a bottleneck, so why are we slow? People are working 12 to 13 hours a day just to press enter. Nobody is reading anything. Humans in corporate are doing nothing on their own. Everyone, literally everyone, from an L1 to an L7 engineer here is doing the same thing. Talk to Claude.
There is no sense of victory. Nobody is resolving bugs. In reality, nobody is thinking anymore.
Everything is done by LLMs. It is so soul-sucking. I would not mind it, to be honest, if we were at least given the time to check out the code and see what is going where. But no, the goal is to just ship. No matter what happens.

34 years ago, a command master chief boatswain’ mate, one month retired, died after using himself as rigging. Bobby Scott was a helluva guy. Safety first at sea…safety third at home, apparently. 😔🫡⚓️
Master Chief Petty Officer Bobby L. Scott, who retired in September 1992 as the Navy's senior enlisted man with 40 years of service, died of massive head injuries after a freak accident. The accident happened about 11 a.m. on 27 October 1992 just after Chief Scott and his wife left the HQ Warehouse store on South Military Highway in Norfolk, police said. The couple had bought a 4-by-8-foot piece of three-quarter-inch plywood.
While his wife drove, Bobby rode in the back of his 1986 Toyota truck, sitting on top of the wood and holding on to the roll bar, police said. As the truck approached Battlefield Boulevard, a gust of wind apparently scooped up the wood, knocking it and Bobby from the truck and onto the pavement. Chief Scott was flown to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital by the Sentara Nightingale helicopter.
Scott was honored in a retirement ceremony in April during which he was awarded the Legion of Merit for "exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service." The award, the fifth-highest military decoration, is rarely given to enlisted personnel.
Although his retirement ceremony was held in April, Chief Scott had accumulated a large amount of leave time and did not officially retire until September. Known throughout the Atlantic Fleet for his polish as well as his saltiness, Scott had been a tutor and mentor to thousands of young bluejackets - as well as officers
- who sought a life at sea. His retirement ceremony drew nearly as many senior officers as enlisted members. He spent 30 of his 40 years in the Navy at sea, serving aboard eight ships.
