It's grown on me over time, definitely didn't like it when I was a kid. I think they didn't want to over complicate it so it would still be readable on the GBA (and honestly the in game sprite looks better than the promo art). That said I'll take it over the mega-blocks suit any day.

I find it annoying that because Miyazaki was up front with some of his inspirations everyone has to pick apart every tiny detail trying to find what "inspired" it. Aside from being tedious, like, other people worked on the game, and I'm sure Miyazaki has original thoughts lol
