We're not going anywhere. One day soon, publishing on Amazon won't feel like the only rational choice. (4/4) #indieauthor #romance

We're going up against platforms that have been around 15, 30 years, but we've innovated more in six months than most of them have in years...such as offering the only author loyalty program in romance + monthly trend reports (@ me if you want to see it). (3/4)

Amazon has made exclusivity so economically rational that leaving feels impossible. Even when authors know the system is broken, and they hate it. Even as they see their earnings decline. We're not mad at the authors who leave. You've got bills. We're building something worth staying for. (2/4)

An author just unpublished from Theo Reads to go back to Kindle Unlimited. His message: "Nothing against you guys!" And I believe him. There's nothing personal about it. That's the problem. (1/4)

Dropping (what may be) a controversial take - free books are ruining romance. Completely. Free ARCs. Book clubs for free books. KU. We've gotten to a point where romance readers don't expect to pay for their books. I understand how magnets work. I'm saying we need to use them judiciously.

Huzzah! (I’m re-reading Red White and Blue and will likely sound very English all day). Would you like to set up a 15-30 min zoom and I’ll walk you through the author loyalty plan etc? The publishing itself is quite simple and everything you’ll need is in your author dashboard.

oh my gosh quinn! where are you finding these?!!! 😭

Hi Skylar, just emailed you a little more about what I/we are doing. Honestly? You are the poster child of the type of author (and books) that we're built for. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'd like to learn more 🤞

Brb after feeding all the babies! (Hubs, son, dog) Hold please!

000

I'd love to feature your new motorcycle release for Labor Day...talk?

000

Would you consider going wide-ER? I'm looking for romances to feature for Romance Awareness Month, Labor Day etc. Can share more but will stop now before I'm booted off here for aggression. (I'm really quite nice and unaggressive in real life)

100

Writer of queer erotica?! I'm looking for queer authors to feature during Kinktober. Would it be ok for me to DM you with more info? Hopefully isn't too aggresisve 🫣

Aha, another Torontonian! Go Leafs! I'm looking for authors to feature during Romance Awareness Month (August). Might I DM you?

I'll revert back to being snarky and semi-charming just as soon as I've found a tissue to blow my nose 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Also, we have the best authors. (3/3)

Feeling teary-eyed because one of our #indieauthors (romance + erotica) just shared this: "I'm reading through the 'Instagram for Romance Authors' course here, and it is one of the best social media tutorial/explainer courses I've ever read. Thank you so much Theo Reads for writing it!" (1/3)

You know we support mulitple authors so we'd love to have you. Also, I think you know this already but in case you don't - I am a YUGE fan of your stories. Can't get enough of them. Honestly.

Well heck, any chance I can invite you to a podcast to talk about it? I have a whole menagerie of authors who'd love to hear from you.

100

Agreed. We need a better way to discover stories. Oh wait...

I started a list of wide authors who write spicy and don't neuter it for the zon algorithm. Support the resistance by reading their works (the resistance is very horny 😼). Tell me who I missed. #spicyromance #WritingCommunity #BookSky #IndieAuthor #romancelandia bsky.app/profile/did:...

Oooh love it. Any chance we can have it on Theo Reads?
