theonlyphano.bsky.social @theonlyphano.bsky.social · 29/09/2026My characters like to sit in my brain for a while. This is Tak and Skoot, who I was going to make a game about a year or so ago. But... every time I sit down to code anything, I die a little inside. Comics seem to be my true calling, so it makes sense to translate my ideas over to this medium. 030

theonlyphano.bsky.social @theonlyphano.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I know Osamu Tezuka reused characters like they were actors playing a different role in each story. I can kind of see why. They have a particular life and personality of their own. 030
theonlyphano.bsky.social @theonlyphano.bsky.social · 27/09/2026It's good to not follow too closely to a script. No matter how well you think you know how a character will act, as soon as they are on the page they do whatever the hell they want. In this case, Commander Wals was supposed to be a stuffy jerk, but instead he's a clueleas idiot. 130
theonlyphano.bsky.social @theonlyphano.bsky.social · 26/09/2026B/w comix are apparently coloring books to some old people. Also, our library sneakily removed all the comfy chairs from the kid section so the adults are forced to interact with their kids! 010

theonlyphano.bsky.social @theonlyphano.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Something I learned this weekend is that I need something to pass out to people and also an easy way to explain the comic. (Sometimes even what a comic is, but maybe there is no hope for these people.) So I'm designing a foldout zine. 120
theonlyphano.bsky.social @theonlyphano.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Episode 3 is printed, but I messed up the formatting and I'm not happy with the result. So it will sell at a discount and I'll print a second run as soon as I can afford it. 020
theonlyphano.bsky.social @theonlyphano.bsky.social · 17/09/2026How does a balloon float in an atmosphere made up of hydrogen and helium? The same way a hot air balloon works on earth. The balloon is half painted black to absorb the star's energy. At night, the station lowers down into the haze layer were jellyfish like creatures live. 020
theonlyphano.bsky.social @theonlyphano.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Episode 4 takes place on a gas giant, and the tiny research station suspended from a balloon in its upper atmosphere. I like the idea of a cramped but solid little vessel floating on an impossibly vast ocean of methane. 140
theonlyphano.bsky.social @theonlyphano.bsky.social · 17/09/2026I feel like I can't communicate with people.
